From my experience with Alexa, i definitely wouldn't treat it as gospel - but cool nonetheless to see clipmarks ranked in the top 2,000 web sites yesterday. go baby go!

The goal of twitter's new home page...

The quote above is from @biz. I just don't see this being twitter's problem. i can't imagine a simpler, more straightforward service than twitter. I genuinely believe that people who don't use twitter don't use it because they're not interested in what it does...not because they don't understand what it does.

This is such a great article - about a man who decided to give up money. I suggest everyone read it in its entirety.

The economics of modernity (one of my favorite clips ever)

I really love this clip. Speaks to the rat race so many of us live in...trying to make enough money to buy ipods, laptops, cars, clothing, jewelry and all sorts of other things that we don't necessarily need and that don't truly make us happy. The irony is that the toll it takes on us is probably damaging to our well being, both physically and emotionally.

Major bust in NJ...nothing like leaders in politics and religion showing the rest of us how the world really works...glad to see them get busted.

Capitalism is a simple formula of boom and bust. Ha?

WTF is this guy smoking? Some Chief Investment Officer guy says that capitalism is just a simple formula of boom and bust - and according to him, since we just had a bust, it's now time for a boom. Maybe over the past 10+ years this is unfortunately true, but come on...a "simple formula" of boom and bust...give me a break.

Fear is literally all in our heads...

Over the past few years, thanks to Clipmarks and Amplify, i've had the opportunity to read a lot of clips about how the brain works. I'm fascinated by how powerful it is and how responsible it is for so much human activity - not just cognitive, but emotional as well.

Was Zappos forced to sell by venture capitalisists?

by egoldstein  7-23-2009    2
A big hesitancy i've always had about raising venture capital money is that i would lose control of decision making for Amplify and Clipmarks - in regards to things related to user experience as well as if/when to raise money and/or sell the company. That said, additional resources sure would help. At this point i think we've raised about $136M less than Ning :)
