POPSBush's excuse for Katrina: who believes those damn weather reports? I love it. They are actually going to defend Bush by claiming that weather reports are never dependable. This isn't the damn local news guy saying it's going to snow tomorrow. This is the head of the National Hurricane Center briefing the president of the united states!!! I could just hear the conversation between George and Laura after the briefing: Laura: "what did they say to you George? Did you understand it all?" George: "sure honey...but you know those weathermen are always wrong. i'm going for a bike ride."

POPSIt's not all about the "facts" An interesting post from Jeff Jarvis about the obsession the media has with facts and how it can cause them to lose focus on the important issues

POPSMike Brown replaced as leader of relief efforts I'm glad he's concerned about getting back to D.C. to corrent the inaccuracies. After all, that is more important than focusing on the relief efforts. This guy should not only be replaced in New Orleans, he should be fired.

POPSJeb Bush switches to hybrids It's a shame that it takes a horrible event like Katrina to bring this about, but it's a step in the right direction. Go figure, a republican (a bush no less) will end up taking the lead on this. Can anyone remember the last time the democratic party took the lead on anything progressive?
