POPSNew Challenge to Roe vs Wade and Birth control Just can't win. If your in a position where you do not have the ability to care for a child and have to make an extremely hard choice. But no matter what choice you make , you get slammed. If she decides to abort she is a monster. If she decides to keep the child even though she would have to go on welfare to do it , she's a drain on society. And those who would be the most damning towards these women for either case are those who have never or will never have to make this kind of choice or live with the attitudes of the self righteous later.

POPSWill Mexico legalize abortion? "Mexico City lawmakers argue that legislation is necessary to save the lives of women who die after having clandestine abortions. Claudia Cruz of the left-of-center Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD) said that more than 1,500 women a year die from illegal abortions in the capital alone. Doctors who perform these procedures charge elevated fees and are not held accountable for the results, she noted. ProVida, an organization that for three decades has fought against contraception and legal abortion for any reason, acknowledges that 100,000 abortions are carried out in Mexico each year but says the solution is to provide financial support for the women and simplify the adoption process."

POPSFederal abortion ban endangers women's health Editorial by Cassing Hammond, an ob-gyn at the Northwestern University School of Medicine. Some of my patients, after finally becoming pregnant, learn that they need an organ transplant or that they are suffering from heart disease so severe that continuing the pregnancy would not only jeopardize their current health but might worsen the underlying heart condition. Others have had brain tumors, ruptured brain aneurysms, strokes and many different types of cancer. These patients terminate their pregnancies to avoid risk to their health and to begin lifesaving therapy for themselves, often in hopes of one day becoming healthy enough to have a baby under safer circumstances. If the Supreme Court allows the federal abortion ban to go into effect, it will jeopardize my ability to provide the safest health care to women confronting these severely troubled pregnancies.
