About me
Just monkeying my way through life...

Why I use Clipmarks
Clipmarks helps me find and share news, resources and issues that are important to me, in a friendly format that provides ample opportunities to interact with other clippers. The passing parade of diverse subject matter clipped, popped and commented on by an ever-expanding community of weird and wonderful people from all over the world is a study in human nature that never fails to fascinate me.

Other social bookmarking services may provide a few of the features of Clipmarks, but they lack the visual appeal, the dynamics and the esprit de corp that set Clipmarks apart.

How to do research, not just search

Good advice from Dave Pollard as to how to do research. I especially liked his thoughts on citing secondary sources.

Has the research paper outlived its academic usefulness?
enbar
by enbar  3-26-2007    5
I generally disagree with this guy, but he makes an interesting case: a student who writes a research paper today is really demonstrating his ability to find and synthesize information, not to think on his or her own.

Is the Web's easy access to information bad for education?
enbar
by enbar  3-26-2007    21
Kind of an old story -- the old "the Web is making us stupider" line -- but expressed with some cogency.

Wisdom of the crowds: let readers become reviewers
luixxiul
by luixxiul  2-5-2007
Please refer this: One of my main concerns is that Wisdom of Crowds is sometimes oversold, in the way that Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) is. Just put together a system, sprinkle some magic Wisdom of Crowds dust on it, and hey presto, the system is continuously improved by everyone who uses it. http://scilib.typepad.com/science_library_pad/2006/06/my_article_on_p.html
