POPSEd Tinsley Beats Rep. Bachman for Worst Person This is what came in second for Keith. Rep. Michele Bachmann (R) told the website OneNewsNow: " is committed to her global warming fanaticism to the point where she has said that she's just trying to save the planet. We all know that someone did that over 2,000 years ago, they saved the planet -- we didn't need Nancy Pelosi to do that. Third place is reserved for a police chief that wants to turn Manhattan into a gated prison for stockbrokers. I wonder what Snake Pliskin would have to say about that?

POPSThe Ultimate Asshole's Cafepress Store Assholes create enemies at an exponential rate, and right now, our foreign policy is being determined either by assholes like this, or the fools who PANDER to assholes like this, apparently ignorant of the brutal reality of legitimizing the opinions of Camaro-Driving Assholes. I found the one you see at the top of the story. And that's your GraphicTruth for the day and a succinct summation of WHY civilized nations DO NOT FUCKING TORTURE PEOPLE.

POPSHow did we ever manage without tasers? Choice Hotels and Noble House Trust may be learning to do that soon - as well as a hard lesson as to the price of turning your good name into rapidly spreading oxymorons. No "Oxymoron" is not a snide reference to Rush Limbaugh. It's an inherent contradiction in terms. Kinda like "Military Intelligence," and (in certain lights "Family Values."

POPSPheonix Feeley wins $29000 for topless bust Her bust can be validated, but the ARREST could not be - as it happens to be legal to be topless in NYC. Of course, the cops roughed her up and took her in for a mental checkup before the DA gave them the embarrassing news.

POPSCue the Acme Anvil Apparently all this came about due to Seidel revealing how much money Shoemaker makes from bringing losing cases before the court - and what percentage of them ARE losers.

POPSLet's be REALLY Aware of Autism This article, written in 2005, includes graphic images that speak of the roots and underlying assumptions of Applied Behavior Analysis. And yes, at one "snakepit school," autistics are still being shocked for being... autistic.

POPSCan I get fries with that idea? Find out more at http://www.zazzle.com/webcarve* and consider signing up as an associate (you get a nice cut for sending folks this way. I will create a special template in a bit, to help viewers create their own versions. OR you can take the "M$M can I get fries with that idea" WITHOUT the graphics and run with it. I'll be putting up a scroll with all shirts using that phrase. Yes, it's a googlebomb. Yes, there' some money in it for me - and for you. And yet, it's still a great idea. You should steal it.

POPSEntreprenurial Capitalists think Republican Bloggers are stupid. ...and if you click on the ArtApart.com link, you will find THEM linked to DeeperLeft - so there is a broad effort to scam people across the political spectrum, and apparently sort them by family size, favorite sport, faith and eco-consciousness. That has me even more concerned, given that they have several ways to gain your banking information - just sign up for any one of a number of "free" services. Remember, they only promised not to misuse your email address!

POPSNavy's Unspoken Reasons for ASAT Shot Maintaining secrets is a good reason for shooting down a surveillance satellite, even if the only secret is that the intelligence it provides is no better than commercially-sourced data. (Let's hope that's not true, but given the fierce drive for privatization under Regan and both Bushes, it may be closer to the truth than many expect.) But surely the other point to the shot was the shot itself. It seems to me that the odds that a tank of hydrazine could survive re-entry is a remote risk indeed. But even large chunks of satellites can give very useful insights to people who should have to work harder for them.

POPSCommand Rape: Unofficial Policy It's become PAINFULLY obvious over the past few years that rape and sexual harrassment in the armed forces has become routine, and that if anything, more routine than ever. One has to wonder if that's accidental.

Change in the Conservative Personality Equals Change in the Offender with a Resultant Reduction in Recidivism by Michael D. Parsons and Jennifer G. Parsons Abstract Offenders have many of the characteristics of the conservative personality as defined by Adorno, Collins, Wilson, and Boshier. The characteristics of the conservative personality limit change necessary for rehabilitation. Until that personality is modified, it is very difficult to reduce recidivism. Modification of the conservative personality through education and environment can lead to change in the offender’s behavior. Is it possible to reduce violence by the criminal offender during incarceration? This paper presents the basis for a model which deals with certain offenders through an educational effort to modify some of their negative characteristics which include violence. The model in this paper is based on the concept of a conservative/authoritarian personality as it is found in offenders. The concept of t

POPSHuckabee - Theocrat wannabe So, he's lying about his qualifications, and deluding himself that he knows what "this war on terror" is about. AND he thinks fighting fire with fire is a good idea, too.

POPSCreationism Liars in Texas Anyone who buys the crap these Texas Education Agency members put out get exactly what they deserve. Their repeated denial that they are not anxious to sneak their creationist dogma into Texas biology classes is so patently absurd to be laughable. In fact, one is tempted to propose that their purpose is to guarantee that Texas school children turn out to be as abjectly stupid as they are themselves.

POPSNot that it's our fault or nothin' Let the finger pointing and blame begin! After all, when one pays ten percent or more of one's income to feel superior, finding out that the leadership cleaned and reamed you is a sign that it's all their fault.

POPSDems place their faith in Mike Huckabee I'm particularly amused by the fact that he wants to make all pornography illegal - but is absolutely opposed to the slightest sanction against hate speech. For a person of the slightest intellectual capacity, that level of cognitive dissonance could cause serious damage.

POPSLarry Craig's Denials Continue to Be Denied The louder he claims about his being straight to the core, the more men come out and report having had sexual encounters with him. Larry Craig just doesn't get it, does he? He really seems to believe that his denials, no matter how clear the evidence, that he is not gay, will obscure all allegations of his practices in private. As I have said in the past, I do not believe in entrapment, and I am not please with the way the police proceeded with his case, however, his constant lying does not help his cause, and it only, once again, shows how much self-loathing he possesses.

POPS The friend of my enemy is my... friend? But the overwhelming majority of the outrage reveals a depth of hatred, bigotry and ignorance about law, constitution, spelling, grammar, logical construction, evidence, rational argument, ethics, reason and most especially the Bible that I suspect that the supporters for his former stance were as persuasive to him as those he'd been arguing against.
