POPSSEO. Answering the question(s) you don't like to answer. How long will it take to show results? Who can blame a business for asking this question in regards to SEO. After all, that's what they're paying for...results. This article is accurately sums up the answer (or lack there of). There are no absolutes when it somes to SEO because you are chasing something that wants to stay hidden and will change as soon as it feels it's been figured out - the algorithm. My recommendation for any SEO company or specialist is to sell the reality of SEO. There's no secret magic to SEO, just technical know how and proven tactics. (both things few businesses have when it comes to websites and search engines).

POPSBlackhat SEO: Website Hijacking through outdated code. U.S. could be next. Though this article obviously unearthed the problem in the UK, I wouldn't doubt that it's coming across the pond (or already has). After all the UK is much more tech savvy than the US. Good lesson to learn. Always update your software, code, feeds, browsers, apps, etc. There are bad people everywhere, not just in the UK

POPSAdobe Places Bet on Bringing Flash to Mobile Devices. Beyond the implications for games and video, what would it mean for mobile formatted websites. Are those going the way of the Dodo, or would a change like this produce a hybrid. Web version, Mobile version (for less than 3G network devices) and those websites formatted in size, but not necessarily in overall load time.

POPSOne big ocean. Thousands of tiny ponds. The death of one-size advertising It's a common thread. Segmentation. Usually not measured up as a positive (because it makes things more difficult, supposedly) segmentation is the bi-product of media saturation. Where not livining in a one color television, one network, one newspaper kind of world any more. There are so many outlets that people have their eyes on these days, you have to find the brights spots, the best rabbit holes. And the easiest way to do that is by behavior. That market may have gotten fragmented but you can easily find out a persons behavior just by gleaning a few tweets. Where they live, what they eat, where they shop, who they like, who they don't like. Think of it this way. As marketers, we're no longer like Sisyphus pushing ONE huge rock up a hill, we're juggling a dozen or more pebbles riding a unicycle across a tight wire.

POPSWhy Banner Ads No Longer Engage Seems pretty obvious, but people always stick with the easiest possible solution. but why should your ad deliveries and formats change with the segmenting market.

POPSLess Novelty, More Useful Apps I see the iPhone commercials where they primarily plug their app store...and it makes me want to buy one. No kidding apps should be useful. But I'm not being too glib. After all, people use to buy Atari's to play Pong.

POPSDirect Mail - The Dinosaur of Marketing Direct Mail use to be king. Now it sitting at the back of the bus. I firmly believe to truly have an integrated marketing mix (especially when marketing locally) you need a solid (if scaled back) direct mail campaign. If it works in an email, it works in a mailbox.
