POPSHow House Bill Runs Over Grandma The author mentions the likes of Stephen Hawkins. Ok..he might be worth saving. But what about those pace-makers, the hip-replacements, the cancer treatments, etc....? Counseling every 5 yrs.? Can you imagine the horror of knowing that your appointment is coming and someone might suggest that you might...for the good of society...want to take a really, really happy pill? Imagine all that will be saved in Social Security. (yuck!) I know my MIL lived 2 yrs. beyond any quality of life...but I'm not pulling the feeding tube!!! My mother is here with me, receiving full-time care from me with the help of some wonderful people at Elder Care. She needs help with walking, bathing, dressing....but she enjoys the home-life, the great-G-children, good food, security and reading. She would be a candidate for those counseling sessions. :~(

POPSTown halls gone wild While I think that it's better to have civil disagreements instead of yelling and disruptions at Town Hall meetings, I can understand these peoples frustrations. And it's very troubling when the Representatives don't take their constituents issues seriously. I see them supporting a Party policy not necessarily representing those who elected them. This next election cycle should be very interesting...if we can keep it free from tampering and thuggery.
