POPSOil Exports From N. Iraq Rise Sharply More good news. The $$$, I hope, is going back into rebuilding the Country and will add to a decrease in our aid and will increase investors moving in to promote a growing economy. In time, I hope that those who claimed that we went into Iraq for oil will get their wish.

POPSCall Congress Back to Vote on Drilling August recess?? Forget it! They've stuffed the business of the people for months and are stonewalling even now. Put it up for a vote....or shut up. This has nothing to do with drilling for oil; it has to do with the continuation of the obstructing of this Bush Administration. If it were a Democrat in the Presidency, progress would have already be made.

POPSPickens' words more than just wind I heard this man's advertisement and thought "This is what we're looking for." Big Oil is criticized for their massive profits. This man has made $$ and wants to use it to reinvest in "renewable energy". He makes sense. When the Sierra Club supports him you know he must be on the right track. Hopefully Democrats in Congress will recognize a win/win solution and even encourage others.

POPSObama: 'There's no doubt that Gen. Petraeus does not want a timetable' Of course Gen. Petraeus is only concerned about financing his pet war in Iraq. s/off. Petraeus doesn't want *artificial* timetables that would undermine the progress that's been made. Maybe if the Senator would come back to the US, assume the job he's being paid to do (deal with legislation in the Senate), learn a little and not sound so stupid then he might be better able to help the US economy which HE claims is really hurting.

POPSCancer's Unexpected Blessings In memory of someone I greatly admire and pray I can emulate when I arrive at this ultimate time in life. To finish well...what an ultimate blessing.

POPSPelosi blocks vote on Bush request to lift ban... This is so typical of Pelosi and her fellow Democrats in Congress. She won't even allow it to be voted on!! She will do whatever it takes to continue to stonewall this Administration...no, the democratic system...with her refusal to allow the process to move and bring this to a vote. Why? Because she would lose! FTA: "In the House, the power rests in the speaker, the power of recognition, of setting the agenda. ... Very different rules,"

POPSTomatoes get thumbs-up... I'm glad. This is the season for the really good, juicy tomatoes. Poor Taco Bell had taken not only green onions off their food but also tomatoes. Not much left after that!

POPSPress Secretary/Tony Snow I enjoyed listening to the man, was happy when the President called him, admired his convictions and values, and am so sad that he is gone. The saying that "the good die young", for me, was exemplified when Tony Snow lost his battle with cancer. I despise that disease. Let's pour $$$$ into to this, OK?

POPSAudacity of Vanity FTA Obama also says every child should learn to speak Spanish; he doesn't. He says we are 'embarrassing' to have fallen behind in our multilingual skills and can only say "merci beaucoup", yet he doesn't speak French. "we are the ones we've been waiting for.."...the royal 'we' I suppose.

POPSHamas Children's Show Discusses Severing Hands.... We surely have different cultures and this explains a lot and is foreboding for the future in the area. The last comment is probably applauded by some. :~( Teaching children to kill. How sad is that? Americans can get in trouble for spanking.
4
POPSCongress ratings plunge in poll Reid's comment speak volumes!! The Dems have completely refused to co-operate with the President whenever possible...they preferred to investigate and undermine the Administration. Talk about a 'do-nothing Congress'! Rasmussen had the percentage at 9.

POPSLow-Carb Diet Best for Weight, Cholesterol I couldn't get it all to clip, but it was very interesting. While I don't have a weight problem, cholesterol is a genetic problem. Jeezz...I have to do more research. While I can resist every single sweet, dessert around... I love every carbohydrate that is available.

POPSOil Falls More Than $4 on Report of Unexpected Supply Increase So, the President's little trip abroad, his decision to lift the moratorium, the citizenry's insistence on "Drill, Drill, Drill" might be turning this thing around a little. Now if Congress would get on board and join the rest of us *little people* instead of sticking with it's "it's Bush's fault" I think the price would fall like a rock.
7
POPSObama Scrubs website of surge criticism Yes, I'm always supportive of something that has been proven successful too. A little late though. Nice try Obama. After you trounced the efforts, the policy, the military...now that the surge has made significant progress, you want to slap them on the back and join the chorus of "Good job, guy!"

POPSUN prepares to pull staff from Darfur "...Sudan promised it would do its utmost to protect peacekeepers and humanitarian workers, but said there could be no security guarantee." Doesn't that seem a little strange and backwards? What do "peacekeepers" do?
2
POPSReid rejects Bush call to lift drilling moratorium No surprise here; same ol' , same ol'. What surprises me is Markey's comments. What hubris! "Drill, drill, drill...." hasn't happened!!!!! Of course, Reid, Markey, and such will not have problems filling their gas tanks, fueling their homes, feeding their families....

POPSBush to lift executive ban on offshore drilling At last! A tiny step and only one. I hope America's industries are making all-out efforts to finally deal with our energy-producing block. Follow all the avenues and options to end our begging for energy. Think of what it might mean for our foreign policy options.

POPSSenate OKs promotions of Iraqi generals Petraeus certainly deserves the promotion but I hope it's not too soon for him to leave his post. Everyone has a propensity to change things around once they start to go well.

POPSDNA Evidence Clears Ramsey Family of JonBenet Death This family has endured so much tragedy. I hope they find the killer. It's hard to imagine that he has not killed others over the years. Sexual predators seem to never stop until they are caught. Check your local Sexual Predators Website; you will be amazed at how many live near you.

POPSCongressional Performance Single digits, huh? Ms. Pelosi and Mr. Reid promised so much...but the final number says it all. Most of us believe that Congressmen & women are more interested in promoting their careers rather than dealing with issues. No one called me, but I couldn't agree more. I saw Sen. Warner talking about lowering the speed limit to 55mph again. What an embarrassment!

POPSPresident Bush exonerated of 'misleading statement's.... Can't deny the facts that are finally coming out. Those who opposed the war will never concede or believe...but time will reveal all the information. My NIL was there. He saw. The American press sooooo wanted to denigrate the President and his decisions. I acknowledge all did not go well, but no one is omniscient. I stand by what the President has done and his reasonings behind it.

POPSGen. David Petraeus beats megastar Angeline Jolie.... People in the *real* world know who is truly important. No disrespect to Ms. Jolie, but her influence is minimal when it comes to life & death issues. This is also true of Crews, Baldwin, Franken, Hayden, etc..... Celebrities are useless when it comes to getting things accomplished. Nice article that gives credit where credit is due.
