POPSWorld is 'effeminate' thanks to men's fashion... I don't know anything about the men in Kazakhstan, but I'm sure noticing it in our Western culture. On change-over at my last tennis match, two young mothers were talking about the horrors of *violence* in children's books at their local library but laughing that their little boys enjoyed playing dress-up with their little sisters' princess outfits. I'm sure I'll get a lot of flack, but give me a boy who wants to play dodge ball, king-of-the-mountain, search for bugs and toads, etc...any day. I believe a lot of men are having an identity crisis and I can't blame it on the fashion industry. I say "what fashion"?

POPSHudson teens charged with defamation in nude photos prank The girl sent the pictures over a cell phone...to her boyfriends....and then complains because other students saw them?! No case here, in my opinion. When will young women begin to have some self-respect and common sense. Humiliation lasts a very long time and has long-term emotional repercussions. And I'm certain she isn't the only one who's done this.

POPS'Nazi' Pope Runs 'Child-Abusing Cult,' says HBO's Maher I am no Catholic...or defender of Imus or Pat Robertson or the LDS; but why does this hateful man's remarks not receive the condemnation that they deserve? There seems to be selective outrage within our society. He appears to have his own brand of 'cult' thinking that he spreads with impunity.

POPSEurope or Eurabia I am among those who foresee Europe becoming dominated by Islam...and much sooner than anyone expects.

POPS1 in 4 teen girls has sexually transmitted disease Surprisingly this hasn't made it to Clipmarks yet. I find this ludicrous...."Blame is most often placed on inadequate sex education, from parents and from schools focusing too much on abstinence-only programs." That is extremely sad. Parents not teaching their children about NOT having sex is a complete shame, but the Media (all of it!!) coupled with the collapse of the principle of 'shame' and responsibility have contributed to this disaster among our young girls.

POPSBerkeley vs. the Marines "Intellectual" airheads. Completely and totally un-American. Our Constitution grants them the right to be dim-bulbs. AND in case of a national emergency, the Marines are obligated to protect their municipality. Americans who continue to bite the hand that feeds them.

POPSAs family movies draw crowds, film makers see gold in G and PG ratings I'm not sure I agree with the first sentence but I'm glad to hear this if it's true. I also believe that the bar between PG and PG-13 has been lowered. AND I wish there were more movies being made that were *just* good! I'm so sick of the fraternity/sorority, sex/sicko, slice and dice, juvenile stuff I saw at my local video store last night.

POPSCanadian Muslim Teen's Dad Charged in Her Murder...... I don't want to make this too much of a blanket statement, but I believe this is where Eastern and Western cultures clash. The Judeo-Christian *traditional* sensibilities will not accept a persons *right* to kill another person. Whether for religious or cultural reasons. A "teen issue"....maybe. We all have them if we have teens. Murdering them should warrant an arrest no matter their *crimes*. The poor mother. This is pitiful.

POPSYoung: Clinton Dated More Black Women than Obama Now tell me....who looks worse from the confines of this statement? The ex-US Ambassador? The ex-President? The civil-rights movement? The silent *black* leadership? When will someone stand up and demand some decorum and dignity from public figures who come out and speak in public? Perhaps Mr. Young fit right in at the UN with his flippancy and idiocy.

POPSAbuse Risk Seen Worse As Families Change We all know this to be basically true and it's getting worse. Irresponsible parenting, wounded and abused children and the cycle repeats itself. Is there a day that goes by that we don't see this in the news or even are aware of it in our own families? Be alert and protect a child.

POPSOn Coulter, Christians, And Jews Another Jewish 'thinker's perspective on Coulter's words. It helps to understand Christian theology, which gives insight to what she meant by 'perfected'. And contrary to the current anti-Christian propaganda, it will be the true Christians who will seek to protect the Jewish people.

POPS'Kite Runner' actor's family wants rape scene cut I listened to this book on audio and it was, without a doubt, one of the best stories I've listened to/read in a long, long time. And it's not about rape; it's about Afghanistan, it's culture, and two boys' relationships. It's about loyalty, human affection blended with the culture and traditions of one's Country. It haunted me. There is no way that the directors can not re-do the scene in such a way as to protect the sensibilities and fears of the family and still remain true to the original story. For years Hollywood was able to leave things to our imagination and it never destroyed the quality of the story. With all the garbage out there that is promoted as quality entertainment, surely this story can be salvaged. This one could actually deserve to win an Oscar.

POPSColorado Police Link Rise in Violence to Music Well, what a surprise. Music is powerful and influential. Does it make you weep? Make you proud? Make you happy? If a song is energizing, does it make you drive faster? I think the answer is 'yes'. So why would it not also make people angry and violent? Just asking.....

POPSView from America: CNN's false symmetry Participants of each of the 3 major religions of the world have, in the past, been responsible for horrible things in the name of their Faith. I say that those who did these things were not orthodox representatives of their Faith. But to, in this time of history, make all 3 equally liable for the horror that is going on in the world is a lie...and that is what this series attempted to do. Paint them all with the same murderous, extremist brush. And the world ate it up.

POPSSchoolgirls in the gunsights of the Taliban I found this was/is a common practice of the Taliban (and others of their ilk) when I recently read "A Thousand Splendid Suns", by Khaled Hosseini. I highly recommend it to give us a more clear picture of the enemy and culture of death that we face.

POPSAbortion parental-notice law repealed My gosh, this is low. Parents don't have a right to know if their daughter has an abortion but they have to pick up the pieces of their child's life from the after-effects.

POPSOhip Mother's Body Found, Boyfriend Charged It's hard to view these kinds of people as any thing other than animalistic. He killed her, wrapped her in a rug in front of her son, killed his unborn baby and dumped her. Warm up that chair.

POPSchildren see, children do This is a very convicting video. I hope no one *sees* themselves here, but it was a powerful reminder that we're always being watched. And you don't have to be a parent..

POPSchildren lost the right to roam in 4 generations The article reflects our changing habits and our relationship with our environment. I agree completely about the necessity of outdoors, nature, plants, our good ol' earth. Ever been fishing? To a quiet golf course? A hike? How does it rejuvenate you? I am working on making my backyard a kind of restful, naturalist place for me to go and be refreshed.

POPSStudies Say Death Penalty Deters Crime This is common sense to me, but if studies help, then these add to the consensus. I'm curious as to why some are against the death penalty. Is it because of possible rehabilitation, judicial errors, attitudes of inhumanity? I'm talking about premeditated murder, not accidental.

POPSNielsens: Record Lows for the Networks Anyone watch network TV? I watch the History Channel, HGTV, Food Network, Discovery, and occasionally PBS. All that's on the networks seem to be trash. I'd rather have my internet on all day than the TV. What am I missing?

POPSe-Harmony sued for excluding gays Time to shut down. When the laws of the land begin to demand that people of faith compromise their belief-system, then which *power* are traditional Christians to obey? Not meaning to be too confrontational here. I believe Christian organizations, companies and clubs are being targeted to undercut their dogma, put a certain agenda front-and-center, and eliminate personal religion standards.

POPSNew Insights Into Sibling Rivalry and Brith Order Birth order has always fascinated me. I am an "only" and these people are doubly driven to perfectionism and pleasing. With three children, and having read a lot about the characteristics of the birth orders, I have found the standard assertions quite interesting and correct. Of course, there are always exceptions, but this is so amazing when it comes to personality and characteristics.

POPSE. Edwards Scared of Republican Neighbor I guess this reveals where Edwards' "two Americas" ideas come from. My neighbor is very liberal and has asked me when I'm going to remove my Bush/Cheney sticker, but we are good neighbors and have no plans to blow each other up.
