POPSObama Frees Iranian Terror Masters I guess this is the Administrations way of opening dialog with a sworn enemy of the United States. All the while Iranian people are dying, it's government is supplying weapons through out it's Middle East tentacles and even into our hemisphere, it's received the OK from Obama to continue it's nuclear weapons program (and we all know that's what it is), and the attacks within Iraq from Iran WILL continue.

POPSGOP gives Cheney green light Despite what's been reported all over the weekend's media, here's a little more balance. It's very difficult to trump experience, insight, knowledge of world affairs, and decades of intelligence concerning the events unfolding. Cheney has more discernment/wisdom in his little pinkie than Obama in his entire Administration. Too bad they don't sit down and have a nice, loooooooong chat.

POPSUS to Help Rebuild City of Babylon Based on what I've read in the Bible about the future Babylon, this quite remarkable. It's coming again. A Tale of Two Cities: Jerusalem and Babylon. FTA: "..now that the insurgency is dying down, the Shia-led government of Iraq is actually moving forward with this historic and prophetic project. "

POPSIraq: Good News is No News He points out that this was a real setback for Iran and it's influence there. I hope he is correct. And I hope that Pres. Obama does nothing (as Krauthammer adds) to undermine or reverse the progress that has been made there. Iraq can be a strategic ally and an economic boom-country in the region providing prosperity for its citizens and the world.

POPSObama backs out on Iraq appointment Lots of disappointments for lots of people this last week. Even the President seemed disappointed with the job when he told the school children he "wanted to get out of the White House". However, based on Zinni's history I wouldn't be surprised if Iraq said "no thanks".

POPSOil Exports From N. Iraq Rise Sharply More good news. The $$$, I hope, is going back into rebuilding the Country and will add to a decrease in our aid and will increase investors moving in to promote a growing economy. In time, I hope that those who claimed that we went into Iraq for oil will get their wish.

POPSSenate OKs promotions of Iraqi generals Petraeus certainly deserves the promotion but I hope it's not too soon for him to leave his post. Everyone has a propensity to change things around once they start to go well.

POPSPresident Bush exonerated of 'misleading statement's.... Can't deny the facts that are finally coming out. Those who opposed the war will never concede or believe...but time will reveal all the information. My NIL was there. He saw. The American press sooooo wanted to denigrate the President and his decisions. I acknowledge all did not go well, but no one is omniscient. I stand by what the President has done and his reasonings behind it.

POPSGen. David Petraeus beats megastar Angeline Jolie.... People in the *real* world know who is truly important. No disrespect to Ms. Jolie, but her influence is minimal when it comes to life & death issues. This is also true of Crews, Baldwin, Franken, Hayden, etc..... Celebrities are useless when it comes to getting things accomplished. Nice article that gives credit where credit is due.
1
POPSIraqis lead final purge of Al-Qaeda My goodness....more good news. I guess now that the reports of success are increasing the Media will have to double up on the bad news of OPEC and high gas prices.
2
POPSObama Softens on Iraq Withdrawal Timeline So the naive Senator is learning that things aren't as easy to "change" as his rhetoric once suggested. Funny how a little more information about a subject and a closer step to the Presidency can make a person realize that things are different in the real world verses the campaign world.

POPSBush never lied to us about Iraq Oh....but the lie is so much more delicious and makes the "critics" sound so pious. If it will taint the "selected " President, then it doesn't matter if it's true or not.
8
POPS'Bush Lied'? If Only it Were That Simple What I have objected to all along is that there was something sinister and self-promoting about the move into Iraq by this Administration. And not mentioned are the UN Resolutions which Iraq failed to comply. The world is repeating the process with Iran.
4
POPSThe Iraqi Upturn This started out as a "good news" clip...and it is! But is the Washington Post suggesting that *President Obama* can take credit for the withdrawal?
2
POPSCongress Holds Troops Hostage, Budget Director Says AND when the President vetoes this bill, who will get blamed for not supporting the troops? Congress, again, shows their utter contempt for the American process, it's military, our tax dollars, the intelligence of it's citizens. Blackmail, pure and simple. If Congress does not want America troops in Iraq then take the stand, vote, and deal with the consequences. But they won't because they KNOW it is not in our national interests to do so; but they will play politics with every ounce of treachery they can muster against this Administration, our military personnel, and the responsible use of OUR money.
3
POPSAl-Qaeda Iraq leader 'arrested' This is wait-and-see since he was said to have been killed last year, I think. The word "detained" is troubling, indicating that there might be a chance for his release; but maybe the BBC was being polite & diplomatic. He had a $5m bounty on his head. Even if he has been captured an amazing *escape* is always possible.
3
POPSSaddam and Qaeda Some interesting reading from the cache of info confiscated by the military. And they are just scratching the surface.
1
POPSSaddam's Terror Links FTA: "The main Iraq intelligence failure was over WMD, but the report indicates that the CIA also underestimated Saddam's ties to global terror cartels."
3
POPSSaddam's Dangerous Friends This is odd. I didn't hear anything about *these* connections last week from the MSM. So only portions of the study are worth *reporting*. s/off
5
POPSAnti-war Soros funded Iraq study People are free to *fund* whoever and whatever they want, but not matter who...the results are almost always a product of the view of the *funder*. To give any credibility to any "study", the $$$ behind it should be disclosed.
3
POPSIraqi oil exceeds pre-war output More good news. I also read that the Iraqi army has assumed most all of the security responsibilities for the pipelines. As the world markets begin to invest more into the Iraqi oil business, I think the level of improving conditions will occur even faster. AND the sooner that happens, the sooner the majority of our military can come home.

POPSPlay President, Real Threats What a list!!!! Great compilation of some *lost* history. I'm keeping this one very handy. "Candidates today play president but not as much as they play with facts. And history. And lives. And, if many of them had their way, they'd be still playing with Saddam. Armed. No sanctions. No No-Fly Zones. Uday, Qusay ready to carry on. Osama accepting Saddam's safe haven offer."
6
POPSIraq Says Stay Yoo-hoo. At last; some returns for our investments. Jump in. There's lots to argue over. Hey environmentalists, now we can preserve our shores, glaciers, air and rivers. US businesses can expand their markets. We can keep a close eye on Iran, Russia, Syria, China, etc.... Concerning the 'oil-for-food' problem that the UN members, in violation to it's own mandates, exploited and profited from... the Iraqi people and the world can now mutually benefit.

POPSAn inconvenient truth Wow, this from Australia! A clear-thinking analysis of the politics of the war: "...the only thing that matters is delivering a defeat to the Bush Administration".
1
POPSDemocrats' 'F' Troop Just a general assessment of the *current* climate in Iraq and in the US. Despite every negative event that can be scrounged up, there is hope in Iraq for the US to be able to successfully turn the security and management of Iraq over to their elected government. It's happening even now. The rest is up to them That is not to deny that there maybe/will be in-fighting and jockeying for power. The US, and others, most certainly will maintain a "presence" in the Country. It would be foolish, in light of our national and personal investments, to do otherwise. But the Democrats *apparent* desire for defeat, failure and dishonorable withdrawal won't be there. Shame, shame on them.

POPSThanks and Praise Well, this is different. A momentary exhibition of freedom of religion in, of all places, Iraq.
