POPSNow the US is Chasing OBL to His Cave A couple of days old but I haven't been keeping up with what was going on in Pakistan. I'm trusting that this is true. With Musharraf gone and no more attempts to prop him up...time to find the "secret hiding place".

POPSWright's Voice Could Spell Doom for Obama I am so grateful that Obama's association with this man has come out. The American people would have been voting for a fabrication of the American media instead of the person the Sen. truly is. Not only would they have chosen (and some still are) a man completely unqualified and inexperienced but someone who mouthed the proper platitudes to deceive the gullible multitudes.

POPSSaddam and Qaeda Some interesting reading from the cache of info confiscated by the military. And they are just scratching the surface.
1
POPSSaddam's Terror Links FTA: "The main Iraq intelligence failure was over WMD, but the report indicates that the CIA also underestimated Saddam's ties to global terror cartels."

POPSPalestinian Militants Accidently Set Off Blast... Well, I can't say I'm sorry. I wonder how many innocent Israelis this incident saved. And notice this occurred "amid new signs that Israel is moving closer to a cease-fire with Hamas...". Maybe Israel was moving that way, but obviously Hamas wasn't.

POPSPoison cake kills Iraqi children Is this not the depths of evil. Not been used 'since the downfall of Saddam Hussein....' So is this Bush's fault??? I'm sooooo glad that man is gone. Sadly there are many others who believe his tactics are worthy of imitation. Speaks volumes and even the BBC must report it.

POPSU.S foes target Latin America They ARE moving in; regardless of what some are trying to say. With Iran's help and the money already in oil-rich Venezuela, the thugs, drug lords and terrorists-for-hire are growing. Sadly, since our government doesn't act against the open threats made against the United States on the world scene, our southern borders will become much like what we see in Israel.

POPSHill Briefed on Waterboarding in 2002 Interesting though not unexpected. The article recognizes that the briefing was still very close to Sept. 11 and the atmosphere and rancor has since changed. But still, I'm convinced that people get together for these private briefings, secret conferences, intelligence reports....recognize the seriousness of the issues...then come out cherry-picking whatever it is that they want to use for their own political agendas. Then the American people are left scratching their heads wondering who to believe and what is *really* going on.

POPSCongressional Paul Revere Warns Nation About Islamofascist Threat Thank goodness. I wish more people would become educated and not have to learn a disastrous national lesson the hard way. The illustration of the innocent frog in the slowly heated water comes to mind. The signs are all around us. Naive Americans believe they are exempt from the terrors and destruction that swept away other great nations.

POPSUS 'most important UK ally' - Brown Whoa! I thought the US and our President Bush were persona non grata. Has something changed? Do the leaders of England, France, Germany know something that the average US citizen doesn't understand? Perhaps the world isn't the Land of Oz. Maybe our politicians have glossed over the threats that are mounting, maybe the leaders of the *free world* have had a wake-up call. Or maybe we've all just received incorrect intell; everything is ok and we can all go about our business...as usual. You decide.

POPSBush and Sarkozy find common ground against Iran Ahhhhh...this feels much better. Begone, Chriac!! And thank you, Mr. Sharkozy, for your eloquent expressions of appreciation for those Americans who gave their lives for the freedom of France. My husband's uncle is one who never returned. It seems he might know a lot about terrorism and oppression.

POPSHe's back: Sandy Berger now advising Hillary Clinton Amazing! Though not so surprising. These people have no shame. Any Republican involved in *unusual* sex is tarred & feathered. They are accused of 'phony' slander and denounced on the Senate floor. They have a memory lapse and are convicted of perjury. Yet, Mr. Berger gets a slap on the wrist for stealing classified information and then lying about it. But he only has to bide his time and wait for the Clintons to call and he's back at their political and corrupted money trough. Any American, Rep. or Dem., should be appaulled that a convicted National Security chief would be hired to work for and advise a potential President of the United States.

POPS'New Al Qaeda plot to blow up planes on Sept. 11' smashed Our fortune can not last. It's amazing the number of plots that have been thwarted. I don't think many would/could consider this 'fear-mongering' around here...but the hatred of Americans has become trendy. Whatever our and Europe's security personnel are doing...thank you very much.

POPSClinton: Terrorist attack would help GOP I find her statement very, very disturbing; but then again, why would she think that if not for the fact that Americans trust the Republicans to protect them more. And I'd like to hear exactly HOW she would "deal with that" if it occurred. Frankly, no one knows emphatically how they would respond in that kind of situation....except politicians who puff themselves up and make themselves appear superhuman.

POPSFinding Comedy in Terrorism When I saw this, it only reminded me of how warped and sick those in media have become. Some things are beyond satire and are completely tasteless. I wonder how the families of those who died in Britain, Spain, Indonesia, Israel, Iraq, Russia, etc...innocents....would view this spectacle? Sadly, we are beyond redemption in this area. Free speech and *artistic license* supersede common decency. But wait til it happens to you....if won't be *art* anymore. :~(

POPSUS candidate Giuliani warns on Palestinian state My goodness. For these comments alone I may have to reconsider his past 'personal life' screw-ups and ponder whether he would actually stand fast to *these* commitments. Common sense talking is so rare on the political trail.
4
POPSDemocrats Say Leaving Iraq May Take Years Despite most of what they say and spout, they *know* that pulling out of Iraq soon is impossible. Any of them, as President, would not do it. And yet they continue to insinuate differently. What bothers me about their ideas mentioned in the article, is that by minimizing our force there, we endanger them and make them a more easy force to overcome and defeat. If I were an American soldier serving, I would want 100 soldiers with me, not 10.

POPS2 Florida students charged in explosives scare...... Did ya'll have pipe bombs at your 4th of July celebrations? Well....I'll not jump to conclusions, but this is strange indeed. And personally, I'm grateful for the alert officers. Better to be safe, than sorry. These young men can carry on when all things are clarified.

POPSSenate Passes Bush Spy Bill While the headline is aggravating, in light of the intell coming out in dribbles, this will keep things working for the duration of the time specified by the chatter of bad things in the works. Cynics can claim that this is politics. Well, have you seen anything in Washington that has given you assurances that politics are not driving our governmental leaders....all of them? I'd err on the side of safety and security any day. The stakes are too high.
1
POPSCapitol police step up security..... I read a similar article several days ago from a completely different source. Only instead of using the Aug/Sept criteria, their sources were saying 45-90 days and that the chatter was emphasizing less prominent locations. Nay-sayers may ridicule these media reports and claim they are politically motivated. Maybe so. But I also believe that the government does not want to cause a public panic while our security forces work to find them before anything happens. Be alert everyone. While we are focused on bridges and immigration bills, our enemies are planning their next celebration.
1
POPSBill Gertz: Inside the Ring Somethings haven't changed in over 40 yrs. when it comes to undermining the determination to win a conflict that the US is involved in.
5
POPSAl-Qaida Works to Plant US Operatives I wonder how the American citizens are going to feel, (when this happens), about their elected officials who decided to fight them over *here* instead of *over there*?

POPSJudge dismisses NYT lawsuit Well, I'll be darn! Now-a-days, who would have thought it? With Britain under 'critical' alert, the murder of a US diplomat, fresh warnings from Al Qaeda, I don't care who they listen to.

POPSHouse votes to ban aid to Saudi Arabia Eeeeuuuww. I can't believe I agree with a Democrat!! and one from New York! :~) And I wish I had confidence that the aid *had* been going to the training of *counter* terrorism efforts....but don't.
