POPSCSI Comes To Second Life An upcoming episode of CSI:NY will occur partly in Second Life. It will center around a murder who is stalking his prey virtually through SL. While I am not a big fan of CSI (can anyone say overacting) this episode will be interesting for one main reason... How many people will sign up for SL after the episode, and will the influx of users crash the SL servers? This should be cool :)

POPSLeopard Unleashed October 26? Well I hope that this rumor is true, and that Leopard lives up to its hype. I do suggest waiting some period before upgrading due to some issues that Leopard was having with Adobe programs in the recent seeds. Hopefully these issues will be resolved by then.

POPSOld Mac Commercial: Rip. Mix. Burn. Cool old commercial before digital music was so prevalent on the scene. Very neat having all those artist on stage together. Check out the appearance of Aimee Man and Iggy Pop.

POPSCockroaches Are Not Morning People Just could not help clipping this seemingly useless piece of information. I wonder how much money was allocated for this study? Another waste of tax dollars perhaps?

POPSBuy Armani In Second Life Interesting ... Now you can buy pixelated clothing from Armani in Second Life. This will most likely prove to be a more successful venture for a clothing company than other business that have attempted to set up shop in SL.

POPSVirtural Integration: Google and Second Life? There has been a lot of talk lately about the integration of virtual worlds with the internet. The fact the Google likes to have it's fingers in all honey pots does not surprise me. While I enjoy Second Life as a creative platform and sometimes virtual vacation it is in need of a more stable and powerful system to work under. Perhaps Google and Linden Labs (the creators of Second Life) could work together. Google would be able to supply a much needed power boost to the relatively small Linden Labs.

POPSResearch + Details = The Devil ? This article really does not surprise me. I work in the research world and it's very hard to get people to do clean work. You can trust people with themselves only so far. After that you take your chances. Unfortunately researches are often so focused on their own ideas that they sacrifice good methods for their own arrogance. I will say that while sloppy methods are a problem I don't think that most published findings are wrong, maybe a little off, but not wrong. Of course this might depend on what field of research they are specifically talking about.

POPSAuthor of Long Running Series The Wheel Of Time Dies I really liked this series despite its length and complexity. He is one of the few modern authors to capture the world of Tolkien with The Wheel of Time series. He is also the author of the Conan the Barbarian series, made popular by the actor (and governor) Arnold Schwarzenegger. I really hope that A Memory of Light is released despite his death. My sympathies go out to his family in their time of grief.

POPSEarly Apple Ad With Kevin Costner Wow this is so funny. Kevin Costner looks so serious. Could this be one of the great acting roles of his career? Anyway, props to Kevin for this early ad.

POPSBees Not Being Killed By Cell Phones Is the mystery close to being solved? At least we know know now that bees are not being killed by cell phones. Though, in my mind, this seems like a very strange idea to offer for their disappearance. Anyway glad to know that this is not the reason.
