POPSReal Live Search Probably won't last, but it's a beautiful example of an AJAX interface, and great advert for Bing too.

POPSLumiar schools Schools in which children learn through projects they choose themselves. Support is from mentors (generalists linked to the child) and masters (subject specialists from outside) - NOT teachers.

POPSScreen sharing for webinars Comparison chart of commercial screensharing software. I'm really not enamoured of any of them; they all seem to run in Java, with jerky images and bad sound. What I want is a simple screen broadcaster that uses a CDN and runs in Flash on the client.

POPSNibipedia Link Wikipedia articles to specific points in YouTube videos. Very easy to lose an hour or two exploring! Hope it will extend to other video sources than YouTube, as that's often blocked in schools.

POPSTwemes Twitter memes. Follows Twitter hashtags, Flickr photos and Delicious tags. Suggested use is for following conferences, but I've tried a #yacapaca hashtag as an experiment.

POPSMac software reviews Best Mac reviews site I've found. Through it I have already discovered 3 new spreadsheets I didn't know about, at least one of them (Mesa) really good, too.
0
POPSTwiddla Connectivism tool par excellence. Nice Flash-based collaborative whiteboard with lots of features. Not sure I'd abandon Dabbleboard for it, but it's a close thing.

POPSZembly Blows my mind! Create widgets for any social app (inc Twitter??) that utilise the API, or screen-scrape. Construction is social, which will be even more amazing if it works. Project from Sun.

POPSFring Skype (and others) client for iPod Touch and iPhone.
2
POPSCrowspring Another site for competitive sourcing of illustration (and design?) projects.
0
POPSEdmodo Twitter for education. I have reservations about whether more than a tiny minority of teachers are ready for this, but certainly prepared to be convinced otherwise.
0
POPSdrop.io Until now I have used Pando for sharing large file, but a lot of folks balk at being required to download a client first. Drop.io handles up to 100Meg (more if you pay) which is enough for most of my needs.

POPSSite down? tester Number or times I've IM'd colleagues to ask 'is X or Y site down where you are? Here's the perfect ping utility

POPSInputDraw Flash drawing widget with a €29 license cost. Only offers freeform drawing AFAIK, but looks quite flexible and adaptable.
0
POPSTweet Grid A good way to follow keywords on twitter, provided you don't have anything else to do all day. I guess the trick is to only follow those keywords that are relatively infrequent. Otherwise this would just suck your life away.
0
POPSTwitterfeed Tagged "feed your blog to twitter" but actually I'm using it for Flickr photos, Yacapaca mentions and (rather recursively) clipmarks posts.
1
POPSEtherpad Very nice instantaneously-shared word processor. Feels like ICQ in action, except that it's random access rather than an IM stream. Also interesting technology. JS in the browser, with Java hidden behind it doing the hard work.
0
POPSBest4C charting application Flash-based clone of MS charting app, from Lenovo. Very professionally done, but entirely web 1.0. Still the best drawing app I have yet seen on the web.
0
POPSQuizlet flash cards This is the largest Russian set with 74 terms. Interesting application for learning rote content with a mix of games and exercises to drill them in.
0
POPSTokbox Flash-based video/voice chat. Free, embedable, has API. Zohair uses it for Dabbleboard. Looks very nice. Clean interface. Not tested it though!
0
POPSTotLol Video clip channel for toddlers. Crowsdsourced recommendations; built on top of YouTube.
0
POPSAcadmic benchmarks A service you can use to tag your online content to the state syllabi of each American state. Pricing unclelar.
0
POPSPonoko Half way between a prototyping shop and a bespoke toymaker. They help you to design stuff and then they build it and ship it to you.
0
POPSRFID readers and rabbits I've just got to have an internet-connected rabbit. Got to! Also, USB RFID reader with an interesting "understand things" back end that will tickle Tim O'Reilly

POPSClassrom web 2.0 tools most of these have nothing whatsoever to do with web 2.0; it has become such a diluted phrase. But a handy list of websites to use in education all the same.
0
POPSEdutopia Recommended American educational website. Focus on novelty in general and technology in particular.
0
POPSX7 Chat lightweight embedable live chat that seems to work well enough.
0
POPSMeglobe IM instant messaging with on-the-fly translation. Not tested; wonder if it works well enough for business use.
0
POPSBaufritz German pefabricated house builder with an office in Cambridge. They probably get really irritated when everyone compares them to Huf.
0
POPSStudeos Yet another LMS. The say specifically on their homepage that they are aiming at Moodle and Blackboard. Looks nice and feature-rich, and free.
0
POPSHaiku LMS Yet another learning platform that claims to be web 2.0. Seems to do just the same as all the others, snapping at Moodle's heels.
0
POPSDabbleboard Very cool whiteboarding application that autodetects shapes from scribbles. Much more usable in a meeting than selecting and manipulating objects. Highly recommended.

POPSAsk Baby ad-supported site with baby advice. I find it well-organised and concise.
