POPSBritish and American diplomats in roadside standoff with Zimbabwe police "McGee climbed onto the hood of the car while his aide snatched the keys from the ignition, then the diplomats used their mobile phone cameras to take photographs of the officer. The confrontation was "a message to us, to try to control what we are doing," said U.S. Embassy spokesman Paul Engelstad, who was among around 50 diplomats and journalists on the tour. Japanese, EU, Dutch and Tanzanian envoys and an Associated Press reporter were also in the convoy. McGee noted the government has denied repeated reports from opposition officials and human rights groups of government-orchestrated violence against the opposition. "The government has said, 'Present us with proof.' I think today we have done just that. "We do have concrete proof of what is happening in the countryside and the government will have to listen," Mr McGee said."

POPSDeadly cargo for Zimbabwe “The level of violence is going to be shocking,” said a senior army officer. “It is going to be a wave that will keep Tsvangirai’s supporters indoors or displaced. It is meant to ensure that only supporters of Mugabe will dare come out in large numbers to vote in the run-off election,” the source added.

POPS40% of Zimbabweans mentally ill And our fearless leader Thabo Mbeki said last week that the ills of Zimbabwe are greatly exaggerated. (This despite the fact that our auithorities cannot stop the border rush as thousands of Zimbabweans cross illegally into South Africa every day) But please note, this is the same man who claims that HIV does NOT cause AIDS - this as South Africans are dropping like flies from the disease. Sometimes I wonder whether there are any sane people living in sub-Saharan Africa. Oy!!!!!

POPS South African church shelters desperate Zimbabweans Tonight's news: South African government is 'powerless' to stop the Zimbabwean, now blatantly open, stampede into SA. They are crossing iin their thousands daily, and still Thabo Mbeki plays deaf, dumb and blind. It's a catastrophic for both countries. (Pity Zim doesn't have huge oil reserves - they would have been' liberated' by Bush and co.)

POPSZimbabwe returns to the ox and plough Is anyone surprised. Just another post-colonial African country utterly destroyed by an insane man who stripped away all white-owned farms and in the process destroyed an entire country. More frightening for white South Africans is that our president, Mbeki, has not opened his mouth once in condemnation of Mugabe. Instead he globe-trots as thousands of Zimbabwe refugees flood our country every day. Zenaphobia(sic) is rife as many Zimbabweans, Mocambiqueans, Somali, Nigerians and Ethiopians are being murdered by our local black people who see the influx of foreigners as a direct threat to their own livelihoods. Mbeki, is South Africa's Mugabe of the future. You Americans are not the only ones with a fool for a president.
