Wiccan Pentacle Added to Emblems Allowed on Headstones
    k9riley99
    by k9riley99  4-23-2007    6
The pentacle has been added to 38 symbols the VA already permits on gravestones. They include commonly recognized symbols for Christianity, Buddhism, Islam and Judaism, as well as those for smaller religions such as Sufism Reoriented, Eckiankar and the Japanese faith Seicho-No-Ie. VA-issued headstones, markers and plaques can be used in any cemetery, whether it is a national one such as Arlington or a private burial ground like that on Circle Sanctuary's property. Wicca is a nature-based religion based on respect for the earth, nature and the cycle of the seasons. Variations of the pentacle not accepted by Wiccans have been used in horror movies as a sign of the devil.

Tucker Carlson: Wiccan lottery winner = government subsidation of Satanism
    thorswitch
    by thorswitch  9-6-2007    4
Here's my nominee for Wanker of the Day. A Wiccan wins big in the lottery, says he attributes the win to Wiccan Magic and that he's going to use his winnings to quit his job and teach Wicca full time. Now, if a winner has attributed his winnings to Jesus and said that he was going to use his winnings to quit his job and teach Christianity, everyone would talk about how wonderful what he's doing is - but I can't imagine any pundit or politician claiming that its an example of the government subsidizing Christianity, eh? And, of course, if I understand how lotteries work, the government isn't subsidizing ANYTHING. The whole point of government run lotteries is for the state to be able to raise money - usually to be used in funding education and such. Its all the other lottery players who are "subsidizing" the winners (if you want to put it that way.) Anyway, just had to share that particular crock of crap. What a f*#^!ng donkey!

    Witch Arrested After Yelling Chants
    wiccantexan
    by wiccantexan  8-15-2007    3
Worship of some newly-purchased moonshine, not the new moon, was her inspiration for this stunt. Dancing around a bonfire in her underwear, in a residential area, burning rubber and plastic? It's a wonder she didn't get lighter fluid on herself and become a torch. This is one reason that I choose to BE public, soas to give a more sane face in balance to this sort of moonbat.

    Bush Snubs War Widow
    DizzyDezzi
    by DizzyDezzi  9-1-2007    2
This is disgraceful, but it does not surprise me. It just continues to show me how "unChristian" this "compassionate conservative" president truly is. Very few things in this world bind us all together. Death binds us all as we will all eventually see the grave, regardless of religion. If we cannot show compassion for each other, particularly when you (as president) are personally responsible for the orders that sent a man to war and thus, to his death, then we are no better than those we might consider our enemy. This soldier gave his life for Bush's war and thus his wife has sacrificed her husband to support George Bush...the least he could do is express his sincere condolences to this woman, regardless of whether he supports her religious beliefs or not.

    Because Tithing is Beneath Pagans!
    boniface
    by boniface  8-7-2007
It will not happen anytime soon because: 1. Government should stay out of the religion business and so shouldn't contribute. 2. Christians, Catholics, Jews, Buddhists, etc. already give to THEIR OWN organizations. 3. And finally, Paganism abhors the concept of "tithing," in other words, Pagans are cheap! I'm a Wiccan Pagan and have tried to start a couple of Pagan organizations and these people just don't want to give! At least, not enough to make a difference. So that's why no Pagan seminary.
