I met with Dr. Kendler when I was just a 10th grader in high school. I love finding major research results he has published, as our interests usually intersect (such as with psychiatric genetics in general, and schizophrenia and phobias in particular).

Human Species "May Split in Two"

    by nohobot  4-3-2008    2
It's an old article, but a Biology professor of mine brought it to my class' attention today. Another interesting part that I wanted to clip: "But in the nearer future, humans will evolve in 1,000 years into giants between 6ft and 7ft tall, he predicts, while life-spans will have extended to 120 years, Dr Curry claims."

Shrinking Telomeres Linked to Heart Disease

    by nohobot  1-12-2007
Scientists already suspected that telomeres play a significant role in cancer, so it's exciting to see that said DNA strands are making headlines again in relation to another big killer in the West: heart disease.

Big news in the world of genetics! (However, I think the first paragraph is referring to telomeres, which are nothing new.)
