About me

Well, It's hard describing ones self, but here goes...
I'm a bit of a loner when it comes to getting a job done, i guess you could say I'm a bit of a control freak!

Other than that though, I love the net and what it has to offer - I spend a lot of time online, but other times I'm usually at work renovating in-ground concrete swimming pools - I normally fully tile them.

In addition, I love to read, enjoy hobbies such as RC Helicopters, planes and cars, playing on the beach with my Son Jesse and anything adventurous that presents itself. I also enjoy a good challenge

One thing you can't do when you buy something from a bricks and mortar store is ask all the people who bought the same product your considering what they think of it. Having said that, this is exactly what you CAN DO online.

Do you Avoid Cheap TV Stands Altogether?
oldgallipoli
by oldgallipoli  6-8-2008
For a normal TV such as an LCD or the old tube type TV, cheaper TV stands will handle the job of supporting them with no problem. The problem starts when you buy a cheap tv stand and put a heavy Plasma TV on it. Now your asking for trouble!

Stay with Brand Name TV Stands and you can't go Wrong!

After having a bad experience with a brand name television stand, we opted to go for a cheap tv stand - which only made the situation worse because it could not support the weight of our heavy Plasma TV. Our third time lucky was with a brand name stand from a reputable manufacture that really stood up to the challenge. Do you're research before buying any tv stand.

Is it Important to get Reveiws on TV Stands before you Buy?

by oldgallipoli  6-8-2008
Theres one thing that cannot be done in the off line world while purchasing an item from you're local store - And that is, you can't get reviews from other people who have purchased the same item you are considering. Shop online where you can to find the best deals.

Compared to Brand Name TV Stands - Are Cheap Television Stands just as Good?
oldgallipoli
by oldgallipoli  6-8-2008
This just goes to show that many cheap TV Stands are not a good option for TV's such as the Plasma TV - This is because the plasma TV is very heavy in it's design, needing a very strong base to hold it throughout the years.

Are TV Stands as good as the Makers say they are?

by oldgallipoli  6-8-2008
Its one thing to get a good brand name tv stand and naturally expecting it to hold its ground, especially since its a brand name stand from one of the big manufacturers. But it another thing to get one of these brand stands and for it to start wobbling after a short time - And then only to find out you had no warranty with it!

Its always a good idea to check for warranty on TV stands so as not to be disappointed later and to be stuck with an item that does not fit the bill.
