Tech trends....keyword: 'trends'

by overdoer  12-27-2007
A little gratuitous clipping here, but thi list from Wired is bupkus. Anyway, I agree with the Rise of Mr T, but still think home media will take another 5 years to 'get connected'. What about having all your media stored digitally online in a universal format and being accessible anywhere rather than just in the home?

Gibson's 'robot' guitar...simply preset tunings
overdoer
by overdoer  11-15-2007
sweet...only b/c it looks cool and will be limited edition, otherwise i'm skeptical and highly value the ability to tune a guitar by ear. that, and it'd be cool to switch between tunings onstage

rowing is NOT that easy, people.
overdoer
by overdoer  10-18-2007    3
oversimplification here...'Add water'? wtf? should be 'Add water. Drown in nasty river water. Never get back in boat'. a 'learn to row' class is the way to go, but you won't be getting too much exercise for awhile. speed comes with experience, yo.

The future of the music industry...for me, at least
overdoer
by overdoer  10-15-2007
I will never buy music online, but I'd be willing to pay for this kind of scheme...it lets you buy the physical 'discbox' with all the extra artwork, physical CD, etc. AND have the digital version. AND people can download it for free or pay whatever they want. Smart move, Radiohead.

Good form + healthy back = better performance
overdoer
by overdoer  9-14-2007
 It's not just the weights...stretching, flexibility, & a healthy back/core are fundamental to performance. Wait a minute...poor form + weak back = I win. Maybe I shouldn't be posting these ;-)

overdoer
by overdoer  9-13-2007
People never take care of their backs until it's too late. All you hear about it is "lift with your back", but how often does it come to mind otherwise? One good wrenching (or NFL-style tackle) is all it takes to ruin your life.

by overdoer  9-6-2007
I see so many people at the gym who sit on the erg for 5 or 10 minutes with awful form. 5 or 10 is more than enough to screw yourself up. This shows why you need to learn the basic stroke before even thinking about trying it. Some people...

Think Jeff Han's multi-touch interface is the next big thing? Not anymore... Maybe this is the first step toward a kind of 'telepathy', if I may. Seems like a great way for us to learn greater control of our bodies/minds. Anybody else see similarities between this and meditation? ooo, maybe it'll help me get in the zone at the gym!
