POPSRecovering dropped Linux Bootloader Did you dropped your Linux partition and now you can boot windows anymore? You can get it back without reinstall just run these Commands within your Vista Recoveryconsole. If you run XP you have to use fixmbr and fixboot directly within the Recovery Console.

POPSTry to avoid .htaccess where possible Try to avoid htaccess where possible, firstly it improves your Server Access(if htaccess is disabled). Or it does atleast increase your security level alot as the httpd.conf isn't reachable.
