Make photocards4all a Guide: follow clipper
About me
Firstly, I really enjoy this clipmarks 'facility' - brilliant!
I taught for 10 years, UK, Argentina, then Paraguay. Then trained to be anglican 'minister' (I prefer the word pastor!) and continued to work 12 years in Paraguay.
Now we are back in UK on sabbatical and I'm getting very keen on developing half a career in digital photography, marketing my photos as cards and canvas prints.
Why I use Clipmarks
I do quite a lot of research and in the past have clipped and pasted stuff into a Word / wordpad doc, but this is something else, and to be able to share our findings, (if we want!) with others is very interesting, to network across the web and obviously, in my case, attract visitors to my website which is beta at the moment, but the real thing coming soon as I got the .com and .co.uk domains yesterday!
Where to find me on the web

Everyone is searching for ways to promote and market their websites. I’m sure you are no exception. Simply building a website and placing it out there on the Internet doesn’t guarantee success in Internet marketing. In fact, by failing to publicize and market your website, it is almost certainly doomed to failure.

I only once got stung by this kind of criminal activity, years ago with a very clever Microsoft (fake) update notification which had all the official Microsoft logos etc... "hey! check out this funny blog about you..." and provides a link. That link redirects to a site masquerading as the Twitter front page. Look closely at the URL field, if it has another domain besides Twitter but looks exactly like our page then it's a fraud and you should not sign in

Tragedy, or a lesson for us all?

it's the LOVE of MONEY that is the root of much evil... not just money... "Merckle used his background as a lawyer to create an opaque structure for his empire, exploiting tax rules and shifting the domiciles of his businesses. His main companies were based on his family heritage. He took the remnants of his grandfather’s tiny pharmaceuticals business and in 30 years turned it into Europe’s second-largest drugs wholesaler, Phoenix. A trip to the US in the 1970s showed him the potential for generic drugs and Ratiopharm, the manufacturing company he then founded, is now the sector leader in Germany. Finally, Merckle used his mother’s and his wife’s positions in cement dynasties to turn a 1 per cent holding in HeidelbergCement into 80 per cent just three years ago. The seeds for his downfall, however, were also sown during his rise. First there was the complicated structure of his companies, where his holding in one would be pledged as collateral for the buying of another. “He w

Photo Image Resolution: Avoiding Pixellation
photocards4all
by photocards4all  1-8-2009
article ends with... In practice, images can often be reproduced at a lower resolution, especially on exhibition graphics, banners or posters where the viewer will not be especially close to the printed piece and therefore able to spot any pixellation. However, common sense will tell you than an image the size of a postage stamp cannot be enlarged to the size of a billboard!" I have proved this today, printing an A4 page of a photo of 250kb with 800 x600 pixels and it has come out pretty decent for most eyes, I would say, but that's an exception I reckon (good cameras, Sony, this was a 2.1 megapixel that I had years ago!)

They are happy to display my photos, don't want any commission, but are keen to have me prepare a new brochure for thie portfolio and website!!! Well, how much should I charge, I ask!!!
