About me
I am a struggling writer in San Angelo, TX. Originally from Southern California, I relocated to TX in '97. My life is finally taking a good turn for rather than against me for once and I hope to make it a permanent situation.
I have worked previously in a host of different careers: Sfx Tech for Movies and TV, Pro Wrestling (Wrestler, Matchmaker or Booker and Promoter); Computer and Network Consultant; Costume Design for individuals, Acting, Security Specialist for major Intl Hotel.Resort Chain, Computer Programmer, Web Site Developer, RPG Game Developer, and Prop manager.
I write Occult Fiction which is separate from Horror as Occult crosses all boundaries. Poe, Hawthorne, Lovecraft and Lieber all classified themselves as such.
My first book will be published next year some time as a new publisher picked up my contract when the former publisher dropped it. ...
I have never been married but I do have children grown and a beautiful, 2 yo Granddaughter named Piper. My family has, in many ways, been my life for 2/3rds of my life and I still have a deep love and respect for them. I am dedicating this site to my father Capt/ David "Tex" Minor, US DOD USN-CBC Fire Dept., Retired, who is the greatest hero of my life. My father passed away in 2002..
Here's to you, Dad... You always told me to follow my dreams, love life, respect others, and do not take life to serious. After all it is a fatal condition they have not found a cure for yet. You never stopped believing in me, thank
Why I use Clipmarks
I am a rabid researcher and information junkie. I also love anything to do with the Macabre, Occult or Unusual and consider myself a collector of curiosities. Much of what I find I use in my writing as inspiration for fiction and I am too curious sometimes for my own good. I love the variety of the choices we see placed by our clippers and there is not a day that goes by that I do not come here at least once.

Supercontinent Pangea Gets Climate Rethink
revenantdm
by revenantdm  7-28-2008
From Discovery... Topic interested me as it has been some time since any rethinking of the Ancient Past stagnated after the Kahoutek Comet hit Earth and resulting global cooling killed off the dinosaurs. The Paleozoic Age is history's most diverse zoological period other than modern times. Learning more of this ancient past helps us understand the cycle of life and death that wipes out upwards of 92% of Earth species when the cycle occurs. The relative time-frame is every 50 million years o0r so.. The last one? The destruction caused by Kahoutek was roughly 65 million years ago. To Say the Least, We are Overdue...

Ah, we saved the best for last.... Yes, if you have not guessed what number one is by now I have this to say: Did you see ANY movies in the early to mid 90s when this one started the new Dinosaur craze? We even had to endure Brendan Fraser as Encino Man due to this one! By now I am sure you know Michael Crichton's Magnum Opus is number one. and no, it is NOT Congo! Enjoy!

Zombies on the Loose!
revenantdm
by revenantdm  7-21-2008    3
Sometimes you just have to grab a 30.06, a haversack of dry rations, and go hunting the undead. Mind you, I am not all that supportive of the idea as a Reaper may be confused with the Dietary Challenged Afterlife Figures so I will give you a quick lesson in the way to tell the Reaper from the Hungry Dead... 1) Reapers tend to wear Robes - Zombies do not. 2) Reapers are fastidious about their appearance - Zombies look like they wear their clothes in meat-packing plants, stockyards and the occasional Rob Zombie Movie. 3) Reapers carry Scythes and can sometimes be seen on Pale Horses - Zombies can't handle anything more complex than a club and will eat a horse! 4) Reapers travel alone - Zombies travel in Packs usually 5) Reapers collect souls - Zombies collect blood and cranial fluids, usually on their faces and chests. I hope this has helped.

TODAY IN ROTTEN HISTORY from Rotten.com

NO ONE should see this as an endorsement of Rotten.com by me. This site is something that should be treated like a leper at an orgy. And on this site, that may not just be a metaphor! Some of the most terrible things are here and this is att best, the tamest portion. Seekers wishing to go further are warned....

Frank Buck - Bring 'em Back Alive
revenantdm
by revenantdm  7-17-2008
Buck was a man of his era... Hard drinking, hard living, self-made entrepreneur and showman extraordinaire. Buck's fame led to an entire occupation by circus workers today - wild animal tamer. Never a man to turn down a "buck," Buck was a shameless self-promoter and claimed to have even tracked down a Yeti once.

Blackbeard (S9 Biography)
revenantdm
by revenantdm  7-17-2008
The Scourge of the Spanish Main and the last Great Pirate of the Age of Sail (Jean LaFitte was a smuggler) Blackbeard's life is shrouded in myth and legend and facts about him are verd hard to verify 300 years later. Edward Teach or possibly Thatch, was famous for several things that are documented and reek of the strange and as Kenneth Hite says, High Weirdness. He would drink a mixture of gunpowder and rum set aflame... Talk about a Belch you do not want to be around. He tied "slow matches" (used for lighting cannons) into his hair and beard so there would be a wreath of smoke around his head. He shot his best friend and first mate, Israel Hands in the knee, crippling him for life just a day before his death at Okecroake Island off NC. When Israel asked why, Teach said he was saving his life! (Knew about his own death? Planned it himself?) Weirdest Fact: Held Charleston, SC hostage for several weeks until his ransom was paid - a box of Native herbs and Tobacco... See what I

Horror.net Horror Search And Directory Categories
revenantdm
by revenantdm  7-14-2008
Do you prefer searching the web or browsing through directories? I like a little of both and I tell you what burns my butt every time is when a link is broke and the damn engine or directory just lets it slide. i don't have time to check out every link but i will say this: You will not find a more complete Horror Directory than here or on it's sister site, Horror:Search and Destroy... As for the black cuts, well the letters were white on black background so I will copy and paste those cuts in here: Horror.net Horror Search And Directory Categories Horror is the feeling of revulsion that usually occurs after something frightening is seen, heard, or otherwise experienced. It is the feeling one gets after coming to an awful realization or experiencing a hideous revelation. Horror has also been defined as a combination of terror and revulsion. We are horror... we are horror.net.

If it was not so damned funny I'd just clip the pictures and the titles. WARNING: NSFW AND MATURE RATING DUE TO ORIGINAL ARTICLE'S ADULT LANGUAGE

The Great Train Wreck of 1918
revenantdm
by revenantdm  7-9-2008    3
I have always considered myself a history buff... especially when it comes to the darker side of history: i.e. disasters, wars, atrocities, crimes, etc. I was very surprised when I saw this article posted on refdesk.com, one of my favorite all-in-one reference link sites.. Reading this story gave me a chill in my bones and the article is worth much more than my paltry efforts to clip the highlights. What was NOT clipped: The procedures of the railroad and safety guidelines and how it failed here. The lax attitude of No 4's personnel and their failures to protect the passengers. The tower person and his attempt to avert the disaster but his own part in not following procedure. The Interstate Commerce Commission's findings of fault and blame for the wreck.. I encourage all to look up this story and see what happened 90 years ago today. Thank You.

Elyse's Site is a good general review of forensics and the application of the science in all it's myriad forms. This part was clipped as a basic primer on the different branches. Part II (Yes, another Multi-part Clip!) will focus on the different applications of the science and some very good links to high-end Forensic sites. The Site owner definitely loves CSI and you will see that if you go there...
