POPSPalestine: A Letter to the Peace Movement
Thousands of Palestinians are imprisoned in Israeli detention centers where there is reported use of torture. People die at Israeli checkpoints because they cannot get to medical facilities. Palestinians are being denied water, food and medical supplies. Palestinians have to endure continual attacks by jets, helicopters and drones used for assassinations (which are illegal by international law) that also kill many civilians. According to Chris Hedges (http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article19127.htm), since 2000, 1033 Israelis have died and 4,437 Palestinian have died from this conflict. 119 of these deaths were Israeli children and 971 have been Palestinian children. All these deaths are a waste of life, but these numbers also show that the fault is not equal between the Israelis and Palestinians. The fault lies with the aggressor and the occupier. When people live under a brutal occupation, have their lands stolen, their houses destroyed, orchards wiped out by bulldozers

POPSACLU: SODOMY Committed by Prison Guards on POW until death! Fuc@ 'em over until death after beating, burning, dousing with cold water in freezing weather. A quick beheading on TV might appear civilized in comparison!? Expect these men to return home and play happy families without some awful consequences for the children, wives and community? Meanwhile the vets will fill your prisons, mental hospitals and what used be your vets hospitals.

POPS'Torturer's Dicks got Hard with New Ideas'. She didn't have a Dick!
On December 2, Detainee 063 was in an isolated, plywood interrogation booth at Camp X-Ray. He was bolted to the floor and secured to a chair, his hands and legs cuffed. He had been held in isolation since August 8, nearly four months earlier. He was dehydrated and in need of regular hook-ups to an intravenous drip. His feet were swollen. He was urinating on himself. The pattern was always the same: 20-hour interrogation sessions, followed by four hours of sleep. Sleep deprivation appears as a central theme, along with stress positions and constant humiliation, including sexual humiliation. These techniques were supplemented by the use of water, regular bouts of dehydration, the use of IV tubes, loud noise, nudity, female contact, pin-ups. An interrogator even tied a leash to him, led him around the room and forced him to perform a series of dog tricks. He was forced to wear a woman's bra and a thong was placed on his head. POPSChild Abuse in Sickening Detail. Death a relief Having read the details of this horrific child abuse, which is beyond anything I've previously read, I'm left incapable of rational thought. Recently there was a sex/cult event in Texas. In comparison with this it was a non-event. This has been kept hushed up. Why? Is it because of the involvement of a Haredi Orthodox Rabbi as the prime torturer? Recently another child abuser in Australia was given safe haven in Israel. Is it opportune while the pope seeks forgiveness in the USA, that abuse of children that would put the Nazis to shame would see the light of day in the 'free and fair' USA media. Is there a word on this atrocity? What society allowed this to happen? This was no overnight phenomenon. What religion sees it as creed to torture children beyond what would be acceptable to the worst criminal or terrorist? How sick is the society?

POPSNetanyahu "9/11 Benefited Israel". Follow the Money Former PM of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu claims 9/11 has been beneficial for Israel. This adds to the conspiracy theory as to Israel's involvement in that awful event. Is 9/11 just USS Liberty on a larger scale. After al, Israel has not looked back since attempting to blast USS Liberty out of the water intending the US to attack Egypt then. Now is has been Afghanistan and Iraq with Iran lined up as the next Zionist target. Follow the money. Naomi Klein's article indicates clearly that the main beneficiary of 9/11 after the US 'contractor' firm has been Israel. Apartheid security is now synonymous with Israel. Fences, drones, torture and interrogation technology, and on and on are all Israeli earners. Having UK police fire 7 rounds into a Brazilian's head is all due to Israeli training. Death is their trade. They've had the practice and it's paying off big.

POPSand China is Worse than this? What a perversion of justice. And all for ONE trial with a 9 month sentence so far. Out of nearly 700 POWs there may be only 80 cases after all the torture that they will even bring to their kangaroo court show trail. What a system. What an advert for American 'democracy'. Were the Nazis as unjust as this never mind China. I know one thing for absolute certainty; one country is moving forward while the other is racing backwards. Most countries make at least a pretence at dispensing justice to its foes while Bush appears to intend to deliberately offend normal basic standards and to goad even more terrorism to justify his misnomer 'War on Terror'.

POPSThe Torture Memo When lawyers in private practice mess up, they face serious jeopardy. They can be fired, sued for malpractice, disbarred or prosecuted. Yoo and Bybee face no such risks. The President won't protest. He got what he wanted. And while a state disciplinary body can investigate, that is unlikely without Justice Department help.

POPSMaiming in your Name: "the sovereign" Bush In a 2003 memo released yesterday, the US justice department extended the sweeping wartime powers claimed by Bush to military interrogators, giving them freedom from criminal laws when questioning al-Qaida suspects. POPSSEX: Misadventures in American logical reasoning.
Does the USA get it right, ever? Not while hypocrisy rules or the 'moral' majority. Eunuchs rule. "Pay peanuts and get monkeys." Ape eunuchs as your leaders and you get Bush! Shits afraid to fart. So no omelets on the American horizon. Yes, he was the mother of all hypocrites but where hypocrisy is the norm. The damage accruing from this will discourage any red blooded male worth his salt putting himself forward for election. So unless there's a lot more half decent female politicians out there and that's more than I've see, then America is fuc@ed for a fuc@. Grow up America and taste the 21st century! Money is the American way! ...righthand "Presidents who break the law by spying on Americans with no warrants, who torture people in violation of multiple treaties and statutes, who start hideously destructive wars based on false pretenses, who repeatedly proclaim the power to ignore laws, and who imprison people -- including Americans -- wit

POPSOX: 'Sexually Perverse' Vampire Murder "According to the judge, Parashumti decided to prove she had no affection for the girl and the pair hatched a plan to kill her. All three had been drinking whisky when Parashumti crept up behind Mitchell and started hitting her on the head with a concrete paving slab, the court was told. As the teenager tried to escape, she was bludgeoned further and Stasinowsky strangled her with a dog chain belt. Mitchell took at least 45 minutes to die, the court was told. The killers then kissed over Mitchell's dead body before filming the scene on a mobile phone, laughing and mocking the girl's accent. The pair dumped the body in a wheelie bin in a back garden shed, where police found it several days later after being alerted by Mitchell's parents. The court was told that a psychologist who assessed Parashumti found she had a severe personality disorder, was obsessed with vampires and was sexually aroused by torture and violence." ...Guardian

POPSInferior People...Dehumanise...Torture "The situation of occupier and occupied, as opposed to that of citizen versus citizen, causes ordinary people to become violent and lose restraint. At Abu Ghraib, the trial found, there was institutionalized contempt at every level. The prison guards understood that "this is the way to behave here." "It is doubtful whether a country that has grown used to 40 years of occupation, and the stories that accompany it, will be shocked. We have become accustomed to treating the Palestinians as inferior people. Generations come and go, and new soldiers abuse the residents of occupied Hebron in almost the same manner." ...Haaretz

POPSGitmo Guards Mental! Traumatised by Job.
"The taunts of prisoners and the things his superiors required him to do to them had a severe psychological impact on Mr H. "He was called upon to bring detainees, enemy combatants, to certain places and to see that they were handcuffed in particularly painful and difficult positions, usually naked, in anticipation of their interrogation," said Smith. "On occasion he was told to make prisoners kneel, naked and handcuffed, on sharp stones. To avoid interrogation the prisoners would often rub their wounds afterwards to make them worse so that they would be taken to hospital. "Some of the techniques used by interrogators resulted in detainees defecating, urinating, vomiting and screaming. Mr H told Smith he felt profoundly guilty about his participation. "It was wrong what we did," he said. The prisoners also threatened Mr H. "They would tell him they had networks of people throughout the world," said Smith. "If he did not take letters out and mail them then they would see to

POPSEU Wraps Bush-Rendition-Bad-Boys "Yesterday's revelations confirm that the European parliament has a moral duty to continue its inquiry," Fava told Reuters in Rome. "We still don't know everything that we have the right to know about this issue." Last February the EU approved Fava's report accusing European governments and services of accepting and concealing secret US flights of terrorism suspects. Italy has one of the best documented cases of what prosecutors believe was CIA rendition. 26 Americans - nearly all believed to be CIA agents - are being tried in absentia in Milan on charges of kidnapping a terrorism suspect in 2003 and secretly flying him to Egypt, where he says he was tortured.

POPSUS Army School of Torture & Murder on Trail Feb 12 2008. Lizarbe, one of the few survivors of the massacre, testified Monday before U.S. District Judge Adalberto Jordan saying she watched soldiers under their command rape and torture women and children. Another plaintiff, Baldeón, also gave an emotional testimony about the Accomarca massacre; she was 12 years old at the time. The plaintiffs each testified that they survived by hiding from the soldiers. Despite Lizarbe's own escape, her mother, four brothers and a sister were killed . Soldiers also murdered Baldeón's mother and brother. The plaintiffs testified about life after such a devastating loss and their on-going struggle to heal.

POPSWhy TORTURE your BABIES? Male Mutilation!
"It to be a brutal, painful and inhumane act. Parents do not have the right to make such an alteration to any child's body, male or female. That is something for them to decide when they are older. We are merely the guardian/custodian of our child's body, not its owner. A circumcision takes anywhere from 12 - 20 minutes, and 1/3 to 1/2 of TOTAL penile skin is removed. There is also considerable evidence that babies experience extreme pain and stress during a circumcision which, unfortunately, is performed the majority of the time without any anesthesia whatsoever. A recent poll of Doctors that preform circumcisions showed that only 45% used any kind of pain relief. This is even after the American Academy of Pediatrics, in their March 1999 Circumcision Policy, stated that analgesia has been found to be safe and effective in reducing the pain associated with circumcision, and should be provided if the procedure is performed. In cases when anesthesia is given it isn't always effecti

POPSSmoke & Mirrors. American Justice (oxymoron?) "In the case of al-Qahtani, Time magazine published the secret log of his 49 days of 20-hour-per-day interrogation. The log described how the prisoner was forcibly administered intravenous fluids and drugs and forcibly given enemas, in order to keep his body functioning well enough for the interrogations to go on. The log, titled Secret Orcon Interrogation Log Detainee 063 (pdf), offered a daily, detailed view of the interrogation techniques used to get confessions from him from November 2002 to January 2003. These included: • Restraint on a swivel chair for long periods; • Deprivation of sleep for long periods; • Loud music and white noise played to prevent him from sleeping; • Various humiliations, such as training him to act as a dog and wrapping him in an Israeli flag; • Lowering the temperature in the room, then throwing water into his face; • Forcing him to pray to Osama bin Laden. ...Guardian

POPSSenate Bans Waterboarding - for now! "CIA Director Gen. Michael Hayden said last week that current law and court decisions, including the Detainee Treatment Act of 2005, cast doubt on whether waterboarding would be legal now. Hayden prohibited its use in CIA interrogations in 2006; it has not been used since 2003, he said. The Detainee Treatment Act of 2005 prohibited cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment for all detainees in U.S. custody, including CIA prisoners. In comments last week to the House Intelligence Committee, Hayden acknowledged for the first time publicly that the CIA has used waterboarding against three prisoners. The technique is still officially in the CIA tool kit but it requires the consent of the attorney general and president on a case-by-case basis." ...AP

POPSCanadian Manual Has US on Torture List So, Canada has it right. They are the first country to have the guts to include the U.S. as a country engaging in torture. Naturally, the Canadian Conservative government, which have been Bush lab dogs since they came into office in a minority government, was quick to state that they do not believe the U.S. engages in torture, but they defend everything the Bushies do, which is why Canadians are beginning to really despise these guys. But then again, all I really care about is that the word is finally getting out in a somewhat official manner that the U.S. is doing what they claim they are not engaged in.....torturing human beings.

POPSChicago Police Torture Victims Awarded Millions by the City As a newish Chicagoan, I have paid alot of attention to this case. The whole picture is horrifying: Chicago Police Commander John Burge and his racist merry men tortured perhaps thousands of black men into confessions for crimes they didn't commit. And notice that all of these men were released from DEATH ROW. How many innocent men were executed? Governor Ryan pardoned THIRTEEN men on Death Row in all, and he utimately put a moritorium on the death penalty that exists to this day 5 years later. Aaron Patterson is back in jail (in a trial that captured Chicago media for quite a long time). His story is so sad. And Burge lives in comfortable retirement in Florida on his city pension. City attorneys have decided that Burge cannot be charged with torture, because the statute of limitations has expired. I say hit him with federal civil rights laws. Burge and most of his merry men were white. ALL of the alleged victims were black.

POPSAustralian Guantanamo Prisoner released How many supposed al Qaida members in Afghanistan are Mujahideen fighters that were defending Afghanistan against the Soviet Union with US, and CIA covert support? When The US went into Afghanistan they knew they had plenty of 'Live' bait. I keep wondering ow someone can be 'convicted' at a trial with no 'witnesses'. The Prisoners at Guantanamo can become anything the US Authorities want them to be. Of course what wasn't supposed to be torture wasn't brainwashing. The option was clear. You don't get out until you plead guilty.

POPSCIA involvement in murderous Operation Condor The US ambassador to Paraguay, Robert White, feared that the US connection to Condor might be publicly revealed at a time when the assassination in the USA of Chilean former minister Orlando Letelier and his American assistant Ronni Moffitt was being investigated. White cabled that "it would seem advisable to review this arrangement to insure that its continuation is in US interest." This demonstrates that the US facilitated communications for Operation Condor, and has been called by J. Patrice McSherry (Long Island Univ.) "another piece of increasingly weighty evidence suggesting that U.S. military and intelligence officials supported and collaborated with Condor as a secret partner or sponsor." It has been argued that while the US was not a key member, it "provided organizational, intelligence, financial and technological assistance to the operation."
