About me
We are dedicated residents of San Francisco sharing tips, stories, resources, photos and reports about our real life experiences with homeless, housing and social justice issues, for the world to see.
Why I use Clipmarks
It's easy to make 'cips' of reasearched pages to be saved or shared with various residents, city and non-profit agencies, journalists, advocate groups and investigators interested in what happens to us, here in San Francisco.

sfhomeless
by sfhomeless  10-29-2009
This is a garden in Santa Cruz.... but, don't be jealous San Franciscans.. who care about homeless life and plant life... we have all kinds of Garden Communities and Farms on the way now... A couple weeks ago, the SF First POWER group (homeless and formerly homeless peer advocates, already working to help others around the city, at the main library and outreach) and SF Project Homeless Connect and the Hayes Valley residents started a Garden Community at Octavia & Lily Streets. Here is a link to a 2 minute, intro video about the Octavia & Lily Garden Community in the Hayes Valley neighborhood, a few blocks north of Market Street. LINK: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yyBWmSjMiic 15 homeless (or formerly homeless) and 15 non-homeless residents are going to work together to build up community, grow food, share labor and share the fruits of their labor, TOGETHER ! SF First's P.O.W.E.R. Group of Former SF Homeless Interviewed on KALW Radio 91.7 FM

by sfhomeless  8-25-2009
This fascinating group is made up of dedicated, independent and capable local residents, formerly homeless, homeless, advocates, staff and contracted workers from SFDPH, Mental Health, SF First, SF Hot, SF MOST, CATS and has the support of local businesses who supply coffee and organic berries, vegetables and bread products for their weekly foot massages, coffee socials and P.O.W.E.R. Team Lunches at Dolores Park Church in the Mission District, where Ali from local Public Radio Station KALW 91.7 FM, attended and recorded part of this Radio Broadcast linked below. POWER stands for Peer Outreach Workers Exemplifying Recovery... you can see them at work at the main SF Public Library where they monitor health and safety to assist their peers who may need services or hear some advice from someone who has recently walked in their shoes, who's been there. This is empowerment in action which works because the team members were treated with love, kindness and healing for a year or

2008 San Francisco Civil Grand Jury Report On Homelessness Just Released
sfhomeless
by sfhomeless  7-20-2008
This excerpt comes from http://www.bluoz.com/blog/index.php?url=archives/413-Civil-Grand-Jury-Report-on-Homelessness.html&serendipity =true#feedback Which is a website run by JEFF a very sane and cool SF Tenant of a crime ridden SRO (Single Room Occupancy Hotel Room) supposedly with in-house supportive services - managed by a non-profit/for profit group called Tenderloin Housing Clinic owned or directed by a lawyer or attorney named Randy Shaw. What the City of San Francisco (like the City of New York) has 'kept hidden' by sweeping their homeless into SRO's has just been blown out the door by this well done, fact based Civil Grand Jury Report. Goes to show you. Whenever a community fails to meet the needs of their entire community, including their elderly, poor, sick, disabled and homeless by NOT giving them good care with proper standards and accountabilty.

These Videos May Cure Your Ignorance About A Few Things... Open Your Mind Sheeple

These Videos May Cure Your Ignorance About A Few Things... Open Your Mind Sheeple ! This is a partial excerpt of videos that all Americans should watch just to balance out what you are being fed by the major news networks and GOP produced propaganda machines. We are not discussing anything new. This is not about 'conspiracy'. It is about YOU becoming informed so you can make better decisions FOR YOURSELF instead of being told what to think by our so called 'mainstream media' According to reputable international news watchers the U.S. used to be in the Top Ten of 'free press' ratings in the world. Now, we are something like Number 30 on the list of countries with 'free media' reporting. That statistic by itself should prompt your mind to question why our five major multi-billion dollar news media conglomerates (who control some 80% of all newsprint, broadcast, cable and electronic

Salute To 'Indian Joe' & St. Anthony's - THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE TO OUR PEOPLE
sfhomeless
by sfhomeless  6-21-2008
This is a funny little bit about Indian Joe and St. Anthony's who serves about a 1,500 meals every day for us without taxpayer funds.... (as far as we know). History Note: On October 4, 1950, Fr. Alfred opens St. Anthony Dining Room, serving 400 meals the first day. After realizing guests suffer from untreated medical problems, Fr. Alfred creates a small First Aid Station in the DIning Room. WE LOVE ST. ANTHONY'S and we are not happy about Marian's women shelter is closing. They do their operation very well, most of the time and even have a nutritionist or dietician that coordinates their meals and menu. With the closing of the Haight-Ashbury Food Program (and cooking school run by Chef Dan before he retired last Christmas) for reasons we are still researching -- there has been a noticeable increase in demand for meals. Indian Joe has become St. Anthony's Poster Boy. They made a postcard with his picture on it !! It looks FANTASTIC. Oh should we say Fab-U-Lous

First US Mayor, HUD Deputy Director and Federal Judge 'Get' Social Justice for Suffering Residents
sfhomeless
by sfhomeless  6-16-2008    1
This is a historical moment in U.S & World History demonstrating that every person with or without money, home or wealth are entitled to be protected equally under our Federal and State Constitutions. In Fresno, California in 2008, we have a duly elected Mayor Autry and a US District Court Judge Wanger who saw fit to right a series of wrongdoings by City Workers involving the raids and taking of property where people with nowhere safe to go were attempting to just live, be and to be left alone. All people regardless of if they have a job or money or last week or last month or last year had one or the other have the inalienable right to life. To live safely somewhere even if they have no money or great material wealth. To any person, agency or groups to be told or actually do mistreat any other person, home-less or not, or take their personal property without due process is guilty of great moral and legal offenses which demand justice, compensation & remedy to protect us

The Whole World's Watching To See How San Francisco Treats Its Home-less Residents

by sfhomeless  2-25-2008
Today, we've posted a world map showing where our Blog Visitors are coming from. Ireland, Thailand, Europe, Canada & more. Also, comments on how Crosswalk Lights in San Francisco no longer allow enough time for disabled and elderly to make it across the street before the llight turns 'green' for angry commuters come racing down the road, honking their horns... Could this be a factor in our City's Pedestrian Accident Rates. And finally, a little historical perspective on how California and Baja California have been subject to political, economic & energy resource related 'attacks' by the Bush Crime Family, Enron, J.P. Morgan, Lennar Corporation and DBT Technologies (aka ChoicePoint - the ones involved in illegally banning valid voters in US Elections and were instrumental in widespread election fraud by the PAN Party, in Mexico's Elections). And a little bit about how Our SF Election Poll Workers may have been told to NOT TELL undeclared party Voters they may use Party B
