PopURLs ( http://popurls.com ) is fundamentally a meta-meta-aggregator, aggregating the aggregators! Saving time by delivering the headlines... and photos and videos too. Of course our cozy Clipmarks is on the list, which I hope is bringing us incoming traffic and curious new clippers! =D GET YOUR CLIP ON!

Roo Reynolds, Metaverse Evangelist
Torley
by Torley  11-4-2006    4
I like job titles that make you do a double-take. I recently spotted this in the Beeb online. These types of articles are becoming more common; I can't imagine it's too long before the novelty wears off and they become ubiquitously meshed yet valuable, like what Steve Jobs thinks of Levi jeans. ;) From an insider perspective (I work for Linden Lab), I should note how dapper Roo aka Algernon looks, and how unique his head is shaped: you'll often not find prominent eyebrows like that in Second Life, especially paired with big blue eyes and a teardrop-shaped head not unlike that of a classic Gray alien. Lots of room for avatar customization, that's for sure.

Will There Be Cities in a Virtual World?
Torley
by Torley  1-13-2007
Always cool to see predictions that've come true. Some 6+ years later after this was published, we know now what's happened. And the answer, looking at the specific instance of Second Life, is yes. :) P.S. Not the first time either, as pioneering, earlier online worlds like Habitat have demonstrated. Odd how this article is heavy on the words but misses out the key concept of an "avatar" as digital persona.

Harness the artistic power of hundreds of tiny dancers
Torley

You may never find out how many angels are needed to fit on a head of a pin, but c'mere and upload your fave graphics into the dance and sign generators. Result? They'll all line up and behave for you in perfect formation. I think the operative word, as written by artist Mariko Goda, is "kilofesta"! Credz to Sarah aka secret canadian for letting me know.
