POPSMost Non-news News of the Century I wouldn't have even read this article if I hadn't wanted to clip it here. I can't think of anything I care less about than these people picketing so they can get paid more to further numb and debauch America's minds. It is not a monumentally important issue. People in Hollywood and New York seem to have this idea that we all care. We read about you like we watch the freak show at a carnival. Unions are rackets to begin with, and this one has got to be one of the biggest jokes of all.

POPSImmigration Insanity The Minuteman walk around the border and call the cops if they see illegals crossing it. Would someone please tell me how this vigilanteism, racism, violence, or any other pet liberal sin (it's actually only a sin if not done for their causes...burning SUV's is OK, treating blacks and hispanics like they're incapable is OK). Why does anyone give half a hoot whether these groups and their ilk are displeased? I think I'm going to try and find a reason to do something in Kansas City now. Hmmm...that's going to be tricky.

POPSAd Hominem This is interesting. An atheist discussion of ad hominem attack recognizes the validity of questioning credibility of a person making a claim as not an ad hominem argument, which, of course, is very different from rejecting a logical conclusion based on a person's own actions or associations with persons of ill repute. It seems, then, that atheists would recognize that a demand to supply sources is legitimately subject to a criticism of the credibility of that person's own sources, and such a criticism does not constitute ad hominem attack.

POPSThis is Presidential Politics? What can you say to this? Our future presidents debating teaching sex to kindergartners. The debate's mere existence speaks volumes. Historical note--sex abuse and pedophilia did not skyrocket *before* there was sex ed in government schools.

POPSWonders Never Cease What a shock. An armed citizenry makes for a peaceful community. Not only that, but the people who appreciate such old-fashioned values make for good neighbors. Tell us something we didn't already know.

POPSWater War This is fascinating stuff, from a legal standpoint. Alabama and Florida want upstream Georgia lakes to release more water downstream. Since the Corps of Engineers controls most of it, bringing suit and resolving the disputes can prove pretty tricky. 22 billion gallons is a lot water. But the fish are happy...

POPSEnviolencementalism Christian conservationism, which I embrace, condemns this nonsense criminal thuggery. This what happens when you worship the wrong god.

POPSBarbary Pirates III The comparisons are not perfect, but I think the lessons are there. If this is going to be a drawn out affair, then as a nation, we are going to need to revise our approach. And perhaps most importantly, to erode constitutional freedoms in the name of fighting an "ism" concedes defeat.

POPSBarbary Pirates I This situation informs how I think we should deal with terrorists. See second clip also.

POPSPut Off Procrastination Been meaning to clip this. This sort of thing is deadly for my Clipmarks time, you know. ("And there was much rejoicing")

POPSKujo? Michael Vick would pay some fat coin for this dog.

POPSS&P 500 Surge Are markets moral? Christians historically have said yes, but now most of us seem to have accepted a free market principle with little criticism, self included. I'm rethinking that and would like to kick this around a bit. I don't think communism or socialism is the only alternative to a free market principle. I don't have a strong view on this; just want to discuss it, particularly with those who reject socialism/communism. I had to include the bit about Energizer buying Playtex...I'd rather not discuss it, but it's sort of potentially rich joke ground.

POPSChip Off the 'Ol Block Here comes trouble... He repeatedly lifted his feet up over his head and grabbed them with his hands during the ultrasound. He also kept doing what looked like blowing bubbles with his mouth. Maybe he picked up my habit of blowing smoke rings. He also kept bouncing back and forth off the walls of the uterus like he was in that old Atari ping pong game. We're lucky to get these pictures. We're at about 4 and half months. How many like my son have been dismembered, skulls punctured, brains sucked out, limbs torn one by one, vacuumed like spilled cat litter, and tossed down the drain of our nation's nastiest moral shithole? I don't mean to be shocking, but we really need some good shocking. Excuse my language, please, but pretty words don't do the trick to describe the bloody horror of our degradation. Abortion must end.

POPSFaster Pastor Okay, okay. There are some Christian ideas I'm not willing to defend...

POPSRainbows All the talk about God and science and rain made me want to see some of His splendor and majesty as a reminder of His unbelievably gracious forgiveness of my sin. I know a lot of my comments and clips deal with the arguments for Christianity, but I have to tell y'all that knowing Jesus Christ goes far beyond those arguments, though it includes those arguments. I just thought I would "publicly" thank Him for His redemption of this poor sinner and His whole creation. I hope y'all enjoy the pics.

POPSThe SarbOx Bind In relation to some Sarbox discussion today. A bit dated, but helps explain the problem.

POPSDeFacto Despotism The critique is of us, not only of corporations. We have delegated responsibilities that ought to be non-delegable as a general rule (exceptions do but prove the rule). What Barry says about our delegation to corporations, however, is also true of our delegations to centralized government, a point with which I would not expect him to disagree. As such, these are equally a source of many cultural problems.

POPSPerennial Grain Cropping Crops that reseed themselves need no tillage, which means they are capable of producing their own fertilizers and soil culture that can both provide necessary nutrients and control pest populations. This is important work, though most of us take no thought for the food we stick in our bellies, where it comes from, or how its production has affected future generations. Our bellies are all that matters. God created a good earth for us to tend, and even husband.

POPSStep Aside David Vitter needs to find something else to do. Men sin and fall all the time, and I stand ready to live by the same standard. But if you are a public servant, and you are incapable of controlling yourself by not consorting with whores, you are not qualified. His response to his sin, if genuine, which it appears to be, is good, but the consequences remain that the right thing for him to do is find a different way to provide for his family and serve his community.

POPS"Dykes Taking Over" School Gang Rapes Perverts dykes and fags are not normal happy people. I hate to even bring attention to this sort of twisted psychotic depravity, but the sodomites want you to think they're okay, and that you should let them indoctrinate your children, and you need to know the truth, unpleasant and degrading as it is. God save us.

POPSThe Agrarian Standard There is an earth stewardship that avoids the error of earth worship, while recognizing that God created all things and "it was very good." This article talks a little about this. Christian conservation and stewardship were around long before environmental whackoism, although admittedly many have forgotten that once precious party of our Christian heritage. I pray for its recovery.

POPSMore Christian Persecution in America Another example of official anti-Christian persecution in America. I hope the rest of the world will pray for us and send us missionaries. Sodomites and other perverts are bending over (pardon the pun) to silence the Church. The Church will prevail in this God-hating nation as it has in every other nation that has set itself against her.

POPSFag Exam I'm not sure of Dunne's method, but if he can afford to A) not pass the bar and B) fight the bar association, I am glad to see someone calling the sodomy-pushers to account for their attempts to screen out all non-perverts from their favored profession. As one facing a bar exam in a couple of weeks, I'm sure I'll face some of the same crap. Unfortunately, I need to enter the profession prior to working for its reformation.
