POPSIrish Census of Population 2006 - Socio-Economic One in five have third level qualifications. Nearly 821,000 persons aged 15 years and over in April 2006 held third level qualifications, which they attained after completing two or more years of study. Over four out of ten persons aged 25 to 34 years at the time of the census were graduates and these persons accounted for over a third of all graduates.

POPSProtecting Children or Covering Corporate Arses? Children should be protected from any threat - few would disagree. However the increasing social pressure to "vet" adults who work with young people undermines the adult / child relationship & fosters an atmosphere of presumed threat where little actually exists. The vast majority of child abuse by adults occurs within families (I speak from personal childhood experience). Stranger danger is thankfully a very, very, very rare occurrence.
