One in five have third level qualifications. Nearly 821,000 persons aged 15 years and over in April 2006 held third level qualifications, which they attained after completing two or more years of study. Over four out of ten persons aged 25 to 34 years at the time of the census were graduates and these persons accounted for over a third of all graduates.

"Dr Daniel Rauch, pediatrician at New York University Langone Medical Center, who spoke to Meredith Vieira on the TODAY show, said there are three important signs that parents and carers should look out for: difficulty breathing, extreme tiredness, and changes in behaviour. All three symptoms result from the brain not getting enough oxygen because of water in the lungs."

Protecting Children or Covering Corporate Arses?
    pjn58
    by pjn58  8-15-2007
Children should be protected from any threat - few would disagree. However the increasing social pressure to "vet" adults who work with young people undermines the adult / child relationship & fosters an atmosphere of presumed threat where little actually exists. The vast majority of child abuse by adults occurs within families (I speak from personal childhood experience). Stranger danger is thankfully a very, very, very rare occurrence.

    tabsey
    by tabsey  10-31-2007
No policies, just a little handout to shut up the carers and their disabled family members. The situation is the result of a non caring government over the past decade.
