POPSHow a Lunar Eclipse Rescued Columbus Such a dramatic episode didn't escape the attention of novelists, who later used eclipse occurrences in a similar way to further their own plots. You'll find the device in H. Rider Haggard's King Solomon's Mines, Mark Twain's A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court, and even in Hergé's Tintin adventure Prisoners of the Sun. In some cases, the event is a solar rather than a lunar eclipse. And the details of the eclipse aren't always astronomically correct, especially in the movie versions of the books. But it worked for Columbus.

POPSSince I get my 15ms of fame today - here are the heirs I didn't have a Razr when I was 4 :( Oh well, I'm glad they get to play with all of this. This is Ben (2) and Rita (4) - the 2 main reasons for my existence. For those who don't know - RecordSage is actually a name of one of my computer creations. All Clipmarks members get to use it for free - here are the details. @skwirlinator - check out the new report (under the Basic pane), it's along the lines of what you asked for - let me know if it's helpful.

POPSIs the 'WRISTWATCH' over??? I really hope not. although i think it might be true. I bought my husband a beautiful watch for our first anniversary years ago-- i think he gave it about a 6 month wear before he realized he preffered his phone to be his watch. i think watches are really 'smart' - i think they look nice on people..i'd hate to see the Blackberry/Cellphone movement knock out this market too...

POPSclipmarks: Nice to be here! Any Advice?
Hello everyone! I just joined yesterday and wanted to say that already I think this is a GREAT site. I've only been a part of another so-called Web 2.0 bookmarking site -- this is by far superior in all ways. It's clean, user friendly, community driven with real-time results! I've already made it my home page. I do have a few questions, so if anyone would like to help me (and other new members) assimilate into this new community, please POP and post a comment. Here goes: a. I do not notice any advertising. How do they pay for this site? b. What does the gold star in the POP box at the end of the story mean? c. Do you find the auto-posting to technorati, digg, etc. helpful? How do you use it? d. Are there many bloggers here? I've always wanted to start one. e. I've noticed some posts are in other languages - cool! Any way to translate those posts? f. How does the community react to NEWS posts? g. Any tips/advice/guidelines on making the most of this community ex
