POPSYouth Day laws 'undermine basic rights' Seems the Catholics feel more threatened than the APEC mob. "If I were to wear a t-shirt proclaiming that World Youth Day is a waste of public money in a World Youth Day-declared area, and I refuse to remove it when an officer, an authorised officer of the Rural Fire Service asks me to do so, then I'm potentially committing a criminal offence," she said.

POPSWorld leaders meet at APEC After months of campaigning on domestic issues with the upcoming federal election, the focus is now on Australia's place on the world stage. Prime Minister John Howard believes the involvement of the United States is critical to the stability of the Asia-Pacific region and supports the deployment of Australian troops to Iraq. In contrast Opposition leader Kevin Rudd, while a supporter of the of the US alliance, is at odds with Mr Bush over keeping troops in Iraq. Could this stance be a vote wiinner?

POPSTroops back Libs on Iraq war, says Nelson The dotard and his sidekick (Mr stuff-it-up) are clutching at straws. They could only win the election with the army. and despite following orders with regard to Iraq involvement, only the political soldiers could be thinking it. The soldiers are there for the extra pay. They know that any post war health problems will be ignored by the forces and as vets they will be given nothing but penalty rates (recent history shows).

POPSClimate change discussed at APEC meeting APEC is is the most important international meeting to date for achieving a commitment from the developed and developing countries to take steps toward reducing CO2 emissions. Meanwhile Greenpeace claims the aspirational targets for reducing emissions as "code for a political stunt". Australia lacks the credentials to deal with the issue because it still refuses to sign the Kyoto Protocol. The Government has no real concern for the environment, and has been advised that energy efficiency and clean coal are crucial to fighting climate change. The main agenda -- to sell more coal.

POPSDowner plays down climate change rift with Malaysia Downer is our Foreign Minister who refuses to believe his ideas are not perfect. He is also pushing the Bush line on everything. A proper lackie. Australia has arrogantly set itself to be the leader and decision maker for all in this area. It is what business has told them to do. There will be a push on nuclear energy before the meeting finishes. When Downer says fruitful, he means business connections have been set up for his cronies.

POPSChaser busted at APEC The team has done brilliantly. They had the Canadian flag flying and even though the Canadians aren't participating in this event, they got through two security points with one of them claiming to be Osama. Bloody ripper mate!!!

POPSSydney brothels ready for APEC boom It seems that some delegates to APEC are addicted to sex. I'll leave you to picture the rest. The idea of a naked John Howard skipping naked around a bordello is too much for me.
