POPSFreedom From Speech ~ Editorial The U.N. is no stranger to assaults on decency and common sense. Indeed, the new ban on religious defamation is essentially a restatement of a measure approved by the General Assembly last year but barely noticed at the time. What makes this year’s resolution different, and more dangerous, is that it is supposed to move on from the General Assembly to another forum, where it might acquire real teeth: the second World Conference Against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance, scheduled to convene next April in Geneva. Many legal scholars believe that the decisions of international conferences of this sort can be incorporated into international law, putting them under the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court. Individual nations could not be forced to amend their laws, but they might find Interpol knocking at their doors, serving them extradition requests to hand over their cartoonists and novelists.

POPSNasrallah: Palestine, from sea to river, entirely Arab property From his own lips he proclaims the plans and intentions of the Muslim/Arab world of the Middle East. Take the blinders off, appeasers. He's serious and all the peace talks, initiatives, plans, meetings, etc...will not change their goal. No Israel. No Israelis. period. What more can he say??

POPSPentagon Report Calls for Steep Iraq Drawdown So, does this timetable mean the Pentagon wants the terr'ists to win or does it make them Nazi appeasers, like Neville Chamberlain? I get my GOP talking points mixed up. Either way, it's 180 degrees away from what Bush and McCain have been saying.

POPSPolluter appeasement But unrestricted greenhouse gas emissions are by far the greatest preventable threat to Americans' LLPH. Yet the government spends virtually nothing to fight global warming -- certainly no significant amount of new money has been allocated for this major threat (the Clinton administration tried, but the Gingrich Congress reversed that effort, reducing or zeroing out every program aimed at climate mitigation or even adaptation). Indeed, most conservatives, including John McCain, oppose even continuing existing incentives for carbon-mitigating strategies like solar and wind power. Conservatives in Congress seem likely to strongly oppose any major effort at a legislative solution (see "Anti-science conservatives must be stopped").

POPSBush fortune "built on the bones" of holocaust victims And Grampa Prescott Bush subsidized a coup attempt designed to bring fascism to America. Two holocaust survivors suing Bush family, claiming Gpa Bush benefited materially from Auschwitz slave labor. So let's not have this talk of Democrats being like appeasers.

POPSObama Owns Appeasement Update: Newt Gingrich calls this a study in guilt: Instead, he got volcanically defensive, which suggests that even Obama sees the parallels between his everything’s-on-the-table approach and the Chamberlain diplomacy which resulted in dismantling Czechoslovakia. And if Obama considers discussion of foreign policy “divisive”, then he should hide himself right back to Academia. Guess what, Senator? Presidential elections focus on foreign-policy principles, and if you can’t defend yours, then you have no business running for office.

POPSBiden: Bush Knesset comment "bullsh*t" "He’s the guy who’s weakened us. He’s the guy that’s increased the number of terrorists in the world. " Gates and Rice call for dialog with Iran; Bush likens Dems to appeasers of the Nazis for advocating the same thing. It is bullsh*t.

POPSBush is an Idiot Bush, never one to rely on diplomacy when bombs will do the trick, opens his mouth again and nonsense spews out. What a loser.

POPSAppeasement In this sense is seen as a policy of making one-sided concessions, often at the expense of third parties and with nothing offered in return except promises of better behaviour in the future, in a vain attempt to satisfy the aspirations of the aggressor states. The most famous of the appeasers was inevitably Neville Chamberlain. It was during his premiership (1937–40) that appeasement reached its climax with the Munich settlement of September 1938, by which Britain sought to avoid war over Czechoslovakia by agreeing to Nazi demands for the annexation of the German-speaking parts of that state . Among anti-appeasers the name of Winston Churchill inevitably takes first place. Churchill stands as the isolated prophet who consistently warned the government of the dangers posed by Nazi Germany and of the disaster to which the policy of appeasement would inevitably lead.

POPSThe Conditions are Ripe for Appeasement
The Islamofascists are not unlike the Capone-type mobs of the '20's, the Nazis, the Russian Communists and so on. They terrorize the population, making them too fearful to oppose them. How I admire the Iraqi citizens who will report on terrorists in their neighborhood at great risk to themselves and their families. There are great courageous acts going unreported by our liberal mainstream media. Again, we must think back on the opening days of WWII when the Nazis were gaining in power, and the French and English populations were ever fearful of the menace. Just before the outbreak of total war, it was the age of appeasement. Who are our appeasers of today? I immediately think of Pilosi, Kennedy, Kerry, Obama and the rest. As Britain's Chamberlain is ridiculed in history, these individuals will likewise hold a place of scorn and ridicule to future generations, knowing that had they stood with the President and confronted Islamofascism early, calamity could have been prevente

POPS "Fascism" Frame Set Up by Right-Wing Press Nothing else seems to be working, so why not cling back to the old fashioned fascism rant. You get your world war III and you get to overwhelmingly and completely destroy your enemy. Sounds like a winning strategy to me, except one little problem: there is no enemy state(s) or dictator(s) in sight.
