POPSSamsung Unveils Another iPhone Competitor In an interesting choice of timing, Samsung unveiled this slick touchscreen phone Monday morning, just before Apple's debut of the 3G iPhone. Also interesting: Samsung already has an iPhone competitor--its Instinct, which will launch on Sprint on June 20. The two phones could be part of a broader global strategy, with the Omnia targeting Asia and Europe.

POPSThings Didn't Happen In 2007 Everybody oohed and ahed over Google's new presentation offering, but then went right on using PowerPoint. Because that's what you use for presentations, everybody knows it. Google gets an 'A' for effort and for presenting alternatives, but as Microsoft is learning with Vista, the public seems rather reluctant to change the status quo. Unless it's for Apple products, that is.

POPSPogue's iPhone FAQ Mossberg, schmossberg. I found David Pogue's video review of the iPhone yesterday and FAQ today a bit clearer and more useful. Amazingly, after the nauseatingly enormous pile of stories about the iPhone that I've already read, I'd still never heard the answer to the question of why exactly Apple chose to uses a 2G instead of a 3G network. Also interesting were Pogue's response to whether the iPhone was really as fluid as it appeared in TV commercials, and whether it would work overseas.

POPSMore Talk Time On The iPhone Nice to see that there are some improvements to the iPhone. Good news for those getting ready to shell out the same amount you would usually pay for a desktop computer.
