His brother, Tai Mak, pleaded guilty last year to conspiring to violate export control laws in exchange for a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison. Tai Mak’s wife, Fuk Li, pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting the violation of export control laws and received three years of probation. Yui “Billy” Mak, the son of Tai Mak and Fuk Li, pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting the violation of export control laws and was sentenced to time already served. The three will also be deported.

The Post is apparently in good company - no less than The New York Times -- when it comes to Luddite journalists and board directors. Is Marc Andreessen too gloomy or are the days of the traditional newspaper numbered? Can dailies printed on paper survive the next few years if they do not have an interactive strategy to back them up? Andreessen may be gloomy but Unspun thinks he has a point. That's why Unspun began blogging and dabbling in new media: in a world where traditional media is of little importance, there is no need for PR persons of the traditional mold.

POPSDonor Disclosure Here's an interesting find by The Globe - that almost half the parents who used egg donors don't want to share the information with their children. It appears that some moms are worried that the knowledge may diminish their roles or invite children to look for their "second mom". I personally can't imagine how difficult it would be to sit a child down and explain this, but I have to agree with psychologists who say children have a right to know their medical histories. And haven't we all seen a few too many Lifetime movies in which hiding this kind of information ends badly?

POPSTechnology is more than a tool I am not sure technology forces change, unless the humans are use it are considered part of the change. However, I am happy to describe technology this way - in terms of the systems rather than just the 'kit'. And then, the complexity formed by combination of 'man and machine' becomes a major driver of change. The technological kit affords the humans in the system the opportunity to force change.
