POPSSteve Biko freedom CRY Steve Biko's legacy lives on through the struggle he helped to ignite and through the freedoms that South Africans now possess. While in Medical School, Biko became involved in NUSAS (National Union Of South African Students), a non-racial students' union In 1968, Steve Biko became the cofounder and first president of the all-Black South African Students' Organization (SASO) The primary aim of the organization was to raise black consciousness in South Africa through lectures and community activities. Biko concluded that the apartheid system had a psychological effect on the Black population, which had caused Blacks to internalize and believe Whites' racist stereotypes. According to Biko, Blacks had been convinced that they were inferior to Whites, which resulted in the hopelessness that was prevalent in the Black community. Biko preached Black solidarity to "break the chains of oppression". In the final years of apartheid, the national students' unions remerged.

POPSThe Facts - Why have they become obsolete?
Why doesn't anyone want to believe the facts anymore? Has our America slid into such a La La Land that mendacities are more plausible than hard facts? It's enough to make you cry UNCLE. If we don't take our America back soon, we will suffer the consequences of Nazi Germany. --- Excerpted from The White Rose The White Rose, was formed by students at the University of Munich in 1941. It is believed that the group was formed after August von Galen, the Archbishop of Munster, spoke out in a sermon against the Nazi practice of euthanasia (the killing of those considered by the Nazis as genetically unsuitable). ---- The three members of the White Rose group appeared before the People's Court judge, Roland Friesler, on 20th February. Found guilty of sedition they were executed by guillotine a few hours later. Just before he was executed Hans Scholl shouted out: "Long live freedom!" --- Read more here: http://www.spartacus.schoolnet.co.uk/GERwhiterose.htm
