This one looks cool. I like the way they used the arrows and the hook ups with the 3D look and the circle to shade them in.

The Pilgrims and Tisquantum: A Thanksgiving Tale
zizzy
by zizzy  11-27-2008
Tisquantum finally settled with the Pilgrims in Plymouth. He taught them how to catch eel, plant corn and fertilize their crops. He died, however, before he could teach them how not to be dicks. After their first harvest in 1621, the Pilgrims set apart a holiday of food, feasting, and praising God. This later came to be called “Thanksgiving,” a holiday of overeating, forced time with undesirable relatives, and shopping. Dickipedia.org Home (all entries)

Senate Passes Pork-Stuffed Bailout Bill
blueridge
by blueridge  10-2-2008    1
Oink, Oink! Your Senate at work, stuffing ear-marks into the "must pass" financial bailout bill. They all lined up. This by itself should make it very tempting to reject by republicans. Yet the hypocrite McCain, as well as Obama, supports it, (and Bush would sign it), even though it will NOT FIX THE PROBLEM, BUT EXACERBATE IT (according to economists who know), and put all Americans and the federal government on the hook for the about a TRillion Dollars in new debt, transferring bad debt from Wall Street to Main Street. Even more sickening about all this is that both McCain and Obama support this balderdash. It favors Obama as he wants more government spending and government control. This however flies in the face of what McCain has been saying that he will veto earmarks and pork barrel spending. THE HOUSE SHOULD REJECT THIS. CALL THEM!

Our Feet and Our Organs
dakotayii
by dakotayii  9-15-2008
"The Organs of your body have their sensory touches at the bottom of your foot, if you massage these points you will find relief from aches and pains as you can see the heart is on the left foot. Typically they are shown as points and arrows to show which organ it connects to. It is indeed correct since the nerves connected to these organs terminate here. This is covered in great details in Acupressure studies or textbooks.

Research has linked iris patterns to personality traits like warmth, trust, and positive emotions
einbar
by einbar  8-16-2008    5
"Intriguingly, mutations in PAX6 have also been linked with high rates of unusual behavior, including poor impulse control and abnormalities in associated brain structures, like the left cingulate cortex. Still, cautions Larsson, looking deep into people’s eyes won’t give you irrefutable insight into their personality. “We’ve only looked at group effects,” he says. “It’s not possible to describe an individual’s personality from our data.”

Microscope On A Chip
rj3sp
by rj3sp  7-30-2008
Researchers at Caltech, recently developed the revolutionary new type of microscope without lenses. The devices could be mass-produced at a cost of $10 each and incorporated into large arrays, enabling high-throughput imaging in biology labs. The device is also compact enough to be put in a cell phone and it can use just sunlight for illumination. This makes it very appealing for Third-World applications,
