POPSIs Obama buying votes? "We've seen the Cornhusker kickback, the Louisiana Purchase, the union loophole, and now the big question is: Is the White House trading healthcare votes for judgeships?" she argued. "This is a pretty serious issue, Larry."

POPSDemocrats Will Implement "Trick" to Pass Health Care Reform Well, so much for a bipartisan strategy session on health care. Despite calls from the White House about bringing Republicans to the table to get their ideas into the debate, it looks like Democrats have already decided on a plan to pass their original legislation. Legislation Americans have soundly rejected from coast to coast. Speaking at the National Health Policy Conference hosted by Academy Health and Health Affairs, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's senior health care adviser Wendell Primus said that Democratic leaders in Congress will implement a legislative "trick" to pass their very unpopular version of health care reform. Why propose a televised, bipartisan meeting on February 25th if the underlying plan has been to pass the Democrats' original health care proposal all along? Well, it's simple. President Obama wants to give the appearance of bipartisan cooperation without really caring at all.

POPS$6 Billion Payoff: Barney Frank Gives In To Congressional Black Caucus Shakedown Crew
“For those of us who walked out, it was absolutely essential that we have parts of that legislation directed toward helping people who have been left out of all of these bailouts,” Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, D-Mo., one of 10 black caucus members in the Financial Services Committee, said…Among the caucus’ demands were greater assistance for minority-owned auto dealerships and banks that lend in African-American communities and more government advertising in minority-owned media. No word on how much of a cut the wealthy minority businessman Percy Sutton will get. Or whether corruptocrat Maxine Waters’ favorite bank, OneUnited, will snag an even bigger share of TARP funds from this new deal. Rremember: she has already finagled $12 million in TARP money for OneUnited, one of her key campaign donors and a company in which both Waters and her husband own massive amounts of stock. Mark Penn got his. The CBC’s got to get theirs. Power to the people!

POPSTea Party Convention Falling Apart Not only are these folks helping to rip apart the Republican Party but now they are turning on themselves. It's more fun watching than a barrel full of monkeys. When their entire politics is based on lies and insults, what can you expect? We got at least three more years (or more) of a President with brains, guts and integrity -- Following the agenda the President explained in his first State of the Union will sink these disgraceful right-wing wackos into the dust. The Republican Party is now the most despised party in the nation (i.e. lowest approval ratings) - the Tea Baggers have started an internal civil war within that party -- the scam artist and con men have moved in for the kill. It's like watching a circus go bankrupt before your eyes. Oh what fun!

POPSDear Mr. President ..... What They're Saying
PAJAMAS MEDIA "Dear Mr. President: Your Policies Are Damaging Women the Most" January 07, 2010 What They're Saying In a PJM exclusive, ten GOP congresswomen tell the president how to make 2010 a better year for struggling women. From: Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers, Rep. Marsha Blackburn, Rep. Sue Myrick, Rep. Candice Miller, Rep. Michele Bachmann, Rep. Kay Granger, Rep. Ginny Brown-Waite, Rep. Shelley Moore Capito, Rep. Mary Bono Mack, & Rep. Lynn Jenkins. As we reflect on what the past year has meant for our families, it's clear that President Obama's policies are hitting women especially hard. Since the president took office on January 20, about one million women have lost their jobs and today the unemployment rate among women is at the highest level in over 25 years. But perhaps most concerning of all, the president's economic policies have severely harmed the small business community, which has traditionally been the part of our economy that propels .....

POPSWas Specter Out of Line Telling Bachmann to "Act Like a Lady" "Well, prosperity wasn't a bill," the Pennsylvania senator began to explain. "Well, why don't we make it a bill?" said Bachmann, talking over him. "Now wait a minute," Specter said. "Don't interrupt me. I didn't interrupt you. Act like a lady." "Well, I think I am a lady," Bachmann said. "I think you are, too," Specter said. "That's why I'm treating you like one. But just don't interrupt me."

POPSThe DC Morning: 1/22/10 By The Daily Caller
1.) Have Congressional Dems given up on health care? Putting on a brave face, Democratic leaders in Congress say they really want to pass health care"really they do"but as POLITICO points out, “House Democrats won’t pass the Senate bill. Senate Democrats don’t want to start from scratch just to appease the House. And the White House still isn’t telling Congress how to fix the problem.” The breakdown of the Dems’ year-defining coalition may be reversed, according to unnamed aides, if only both houses of Congress will commit to a defanged, scaled-back bill. The Daily Caller’s Jon Ward reported yesterday that Pres. Barack Obama has abandoned publicly defending the bill in favor of talking up aggressive financial reforms, casting himself as opposite “the big banks and corporate interests, fighting for the taxpayer.” Ward writes that “the White House hopes Republicans take them on, so they can portray them as on the side of “fat cat bankers,” as the president called them.

POPSArlen Specter Tells Bachmann To Act Like A "Lady" Dom Giordano of Philadelphia's 1210AM came to Washington today to do a special program on the one-year anniversary of Mr. Obama's inauguration. Mr. Specter was his first guest... The Minnesotan (Bachmann) detailed a list of fiscal changes: cutting the effective income tax rate to 22 percent, dashing capital gains taxes and eliminating the estate tax will stimulate the economy plenty, she said, as opposed to the overreach of the Obama administration with the stimulus and health care legislation. As Mr. Specter started to respond, Ms. Bachmann interjected to try to reinforce her point. Mr. Specter, clearly, did not appreciate the interruption. "I'm going to treat you like a lady," Mr. Specter shot back. "Now act like one." Ms. Bachmann replied, "I am a lady." The two continued to spar and Mr. Specter later again asked Ms. Bachmann to "act like a lady" when things got heated. more at link http://bit.ly/6TnQKo post-gazette.com

POPSMichele Bachmann: Welfare Queen Bachmann’s financial disclosure forms indicate that her personal stake in the family farm is worth up to $250,000. They also show that she has been earning income from the farm business, and that the income grew in just a few years from $2,000 to as much as $50,000 for 2008. This has provided her with a second government-subsidized income to go with her job as a government-paid congresswoman who makes $174,000 per year (in addition to having top-notch government medical benefits). “If she has an interest in a farm getting federal subsidy payments, she is benefiting from them,”

POPSWe need Welfare Reform! Welfare for the wealthy, that is! This is horribly wrong! Once again, Republicans should be ashamed of themselves.

POPSParting Ways With The Right Anti-Islamic bigotry that goes far beyond simply criticizing radical Islam, into support for fascism, violence, and genocide (see: Pamela Geller, Robert Spencer, etc.) Hatred for President Obama that goes far beyond simply criticizing his policies, into racism, hate speech, and bizarre conspiracy theories (see: witch doctor pictures, tea parties, Birthers, Michelle Malkin, Fox News, World Net Daily, Newsmax, and every other right wing source) And much, much more. The American right wing has gone off the rails, into the bushes, and off the cliff. I won’t be going over the cliff with them.

POPSGovernment health care rescues protesters at anti-government health care rally. By the end of the day, “medics had administered government-run health care to at least five people in the crowd who were stricken as they denounced government-run health care.” Bachmann=proof that being severely developmentally and emotionally delayed does not preclude Government service. Ironically, she's the best argument that the government should not be running anything.

POPSDana Milbank Is, as Mark Levin Describes Him, "A Punk, a Liar and a Coward"
Constitutional attorney, bestselling author and hit radio show host Mark Levin certainly doesn't mince words. Alerted to Milbank's latest hit piece in The Washington Post, Levin called Milbank out as a propagandist of the first order. The reason: out of literally tens of thousands of patriotic signs and shirts at Thursday's Capitol Hill protest, Milbank picked out a handful as supposedly representative of a crowd he described as "hateful and gruesome." An outraged Levin called Milbank a "punk, a liar and a coward" while challenging him to a debate on his show. Here's a Nazi reference that Milbank might appreciate: I think of him as the Josef Goebbels of his age. He writes patent propaganda in service of the State. And I can prove it. Bubba visited DC for the rally and wandered through the crowd for hours taking scores of photos. I created a montage -- click to zoom if you'd like read the dozens of visible messages -- from his collection.

POPSGOP prefers teabagging over governing Oh, this is just too freakin' funny! Priceless, really. :-D I love the comments, too! Especially the one from "Dorn 76" - November 6, 2009 1:49 PM "The day HCR finally comes up for a vote we'll just tell these idiots some teabaggers and Fox News cameras are outside making a ruckus."
