POPS "Argue With Them And Get In Their Face"
I had been under the impression that the Alien and Sedition Acts had gone out of existence in 1801-'02. Not so, apparently, in metropolitan St. Louis. Similarly, the Obama campaign called for a criminal investigation of the American Issues Project when it ran ads highlighting Mr. Obama's ties to Mr. Ayers. These attempts to shut down political speech have become routine for liberals. "Saturday Night Live" ran a spoof of the financial crisis that skewered Democrats like House Financial Services Chairman Barney Frank and liberal contributors. The tape of the broadcast disappeared from NBC's Web site and was replaced with another that omitted the references to Mr. Frank. Evidently NBC and its parent, General Electric, don't want people to hear speech that attacks liberals. Today's liberals seem to be taking their marching orders from other quarters. Specifically, from the college and university campuses, armed with speech codes, have for years been disciplining and subjecting. .

POPS Mexicans Protest Canadian Mining Company
"Not only does the mine require an estimated 32 million litres of water per day, there are serious concerns that the cyanide will contaminate the aquifers, says hydrologist Mario Martínez. "There are cyanide heap leach pads (large pools) right on top of an aquifer." "Once the ore is removed from the Cerro de San Pedro pit, it is trucked two km to specially prepared outdoor pads, where a solution of water and cyanide is sprayed on the ore to dissolve the gold and silver out of the rock. The water is treated to remove the precious metals and recover some of the cyanide. "spent ore" is removed and piled into hills already more than 20 metres high "Sixteen tonnes of sodium cyanide are being used daily, and there is a great risk it could seep into the aquifer" The mining company assures that the cyanide is managed in a closed circuit and that the surface of the leaching pools are covered by special plastic membranes, injected with air and monitored by leak detectors.

POPS Biggest Online Shopping Day Of The Year?
Two words: Free Shipping. It is single most effective online promotion. – 80% of e-tailers will offer some sort of free shipping promotion this holiday season. Some shipping offers come with conditions, i.e., spend $50.00 to qualify. So, if you have two $25.00 items to purchase, you may be better off finding a site where you can purchase both vs. spreading those purchases out over 2 sites and forgoing the shipping cost advantage. Also, new this year is SITE TO STORE -- especially on hot items. Circuit City may have the hot electronic item (eg Nintendo Wii Guitar Hero), but they're going to make you come to the store to get it, cause they're banking on you buying more when you get there. Walmart offering Free Shipping for items ordered online, but picked up in-store. Free shipping with no strings attached is gone because etailers are willing to absorb cost of "standard shipping" timelines, but as they start to have to pay the Fed Ex & UPS they'll pass that premium along to you.

POPS Fort Dix Tipster Shrugs Off 'Hero' Title His decision prompted a 15-month investigation into six men, four from Yugoslavia, one from Jordan and one from Turkey, who live in Philadelphia's southern New Jersey suburbs. Authorities have lauded the clerk as an "unsung hero," a title he rejects. "I don't feel like a hero," he said. "I feel like I did the right thing." Although the ordeal, which included questioning by the FBI, felt "like something out of a movie," Morgenstern said the "real heroes" were those who conducted the investigation and our "men and women overseas."
