Psoriasis "cure" found by Irishman

rest of article: "It nearly had me destroyed. My scalp, ears, hands were all covered in it as well as my body. I tried absolutely everything. My marriage broke up and I even thought about taking my own life," he revealed. The condition left David with a constant itch, and he left a trail of dead skin everywhere he went. When they asked, he told children asked what was wrong with him, he told them he had been burnt in a fire. Four years ago, a friend suggested that he try Argan oil, extracted from the nut of a tree found in Morocco and used widely in cosmetics. Within hours of application, the itch which had troubled him for 14 years had stopped. David spent the next four years experimenting with different combinations of natural ingredients, using the oil as a base, with remarkable results. "Within four weeks there was a massive improvement and after seven to nine weeks it was completely gone from my scalp. "I know this works. It has given me back my freedom. I was a

Are The Chinese Trying To Tell Us Something?
DizzyDezzi
by DizzyDezzi  5-20-2007    5
This is scary. My family does not live and can not yet afford to move to a property where we can produce our own food; particularly, vegetables and fruits. We don't live near a farmer's market. So, we rely, like many Americans, on our local commissary or supermarket. The way I read this article, it's telling us there is very little we can do about this problem of tainted food and other necessities because by squashing China's imports we would be shooting ourselves in the foot. So it seems as if China is sending us poison--because they can. And there is nothing we can do about it. Even a vegan diet is not immune to potential poisoning unless you totally go homegrown.

Are Men becoming Extinct?
Kelika
by Kelika  2-1-2009    4
"... Women in communities heavily polluted with such chemicals in Canada, Russia and Italy have given birth to twice as many girls than boys. This may help explain a mysterious shift in sex ratios worldwide. Normally 106 boys are born for every 100 girls, but the ratio is slipping. It is calculated that 250,000 babies who statistically would have been boys have been born as girls instead in the U.S. and Japan alone. Sperm counts are dropping quickly. Studies in more than 20 countries have shown that they have dropped from 150 million per milliliter of sperm fluid to 60 million over 50 years."

New Nanotechnology Products Hitting The Market At The Rate Of 3-4 Per Week
Mohir
by Mohir  4-26-2008    1
While polls show most Americans know little or nothing about nanotechnology, in 2006 nanotechnology was incorporated into more than $50 billion in manufactured goods. By 2014, Lux Research estimates $2.6 trillion in manufactured goods will incorporate nanotechnology--or about 15 percent of total global output. Despite a 2006 worldwide investment of $12.4 billion in nanotech R&D, comparatively little was spent on examining nanotechnology's potential environmental, health and safety risks.

Oil painting 'invented in Asia, not Europe'
dakotayii
by dakotayii  4-22-2008
A dozen out of the 50 caves were painted with oil painting technique, using perhaps walnut and poppy seed oils, conclude Ms Yoko Taniguchi from the National Research Institute for Cultural Properties in Tokyo. "This is the earliest clear example of oil paintings in the world, although drying oils were already used by ancient Romans and Egyptians, but only as medicines and cosmetics", explains Ms Taniguchi, leader of the team. The results showed a high diversity of pigments as well as binders and the scientists identified original ingredients and alteration compounds. Apart from oil-based paint layers, some of the layers were made of natural resins, proteins, gums, and, in some cases, a resinous, varnish-like layer. The paintings are probably the work of artists who travelled on the Silk Road.

Nobody Knows What Nanoparticles Do -- Yet They Are in Food, Cosmetics, and Toys
thisnamecantbetaken
by thisnamecantbetaken  7-11-2009    2
Some studies find little or no risk. Others are alarming. One reason nanomaterials can cause trouble is that they are small enough to evade the body's defenses. "The take-home message for me is, the behavior of these particles is very complex," Gruden says. "When you take a nanoparticle and put it into the environment, you have to know how it's going to behave. And we don't."

Babies absorb chemicals from shampoo
pokkets
by pokkets  2-4-2008    2
There are the same kinds of dangerous chemicals in just about everything people touch. Babies developing are particularly at risk. Do the Manufacturers give a damn. Not a chance. They just hate bad publicity, because it will reduce sales. Of course there'll is plenty of concerned looks and lip service, but business is business. Even if it's killing the customers. It may not kill them outright - just a slow creep, perhaps sterilize them. They know there's a giant market emerging in China and India to fill any gaps. Scare tactics ? Yes. Things are rotting from the inside. Anyone who is not scared is a fool. Terrorism is a Red Herring.
