POPSHerschel scans hidden Milky Way Herschel intends to study large regions of the Milky Way in its combined Spire-Pacs scanning mode. The instruments will, of course, also work independently. The mission is due to go into routine operations in the next few weeks. However, its third instrument is currently down after experiencing a fault. Engineers can switch to a back-up system to reactivate the Heterodyne Instrument for the Far Infrared (HiFi), but they do not intend to do that until they have satisfied themselves the cause the anomaly is properly understood. The Dutch-led HiFi is a spectrometer that will identify elements and molecules in the clouds of gas and dust which give rise to stars. POPSSoftware licenses contain secret damnation clauses
more: The Catholic church offers a free EULA checking service through its "Devil's Advocate" program, although users can expect to wait several weeks before their computers are processed and shipped back to them from Vatican City. Infernal terms can appear in EULAs from any company, large or small. Early versions of Windows Vista included the clause "In exchange for using this software, the user agrees to surrender his soul to the Forces of Darkness and to be damned for all eternity", while the AVG antivirus program required the user to "abide where the worm dieth not", and also installed Yahoo Toolbar by default. But even for professionals, spotting the hidden damnation clauses can be tricky. "One client asked me to check the EULA for Corel Painter," said Beefy. "I was about to tell my client to click on the "I agree to the above terms" box, when I noticed what appeared to be a tiny speck of dirt next to it. On closer inspection, I saw that it was an asterisk, and, after scro

POPSFox Nation's Big, Big, BIG, Bigoted Article
DIGG COMMENTS: "wow they'll say anything" "Every time I read crazy bullshit like this, the phrase "grasping at straws" comes to mind." "It's downright scary how dumb these people are." --- I live in my own little sphere where such stupidity does not reign supreme. I stay away from Fox news, (if my remote button lands on it even for a second, I quickly push next to get the hell out of there, FAST). I don't view the backwardness of Fox viewers as scary (unless, they start donning white sheets and pointed hoods). But I do get angry that there is a media outlet that fuels ignorance and makes money doing so, to boot. The FoxTV/Right-wing talk charlatans use their follower’s shallowness to control this audience and what a sad lot they are. Always in a state of anger, believing some group is to blame for their hardships; when in reality it's the very right-wing political and religious belief system they’ve bought into that keeps them bound by their own ignorance. It's sad. thinkingblue
