POPSPetraeus/Betray Us Ad Results in A Deluge of Support for Moveon.org Moveon.org really started something with its Petraeus/Betray-Us ad. It actually was able to move the congress into introducing and voting on legislation condemning the organization for running the ad, which is the first bit of activity we have seen there in a while. While war rages and blood flows the most important thing on the minds of our legislators was to codify censorship. We must never speak poorly, especially of a military man in uniform. The Republicans were especially outraged. Yes, the same Republicans who swift-boated John Kerry and Max Cleland who were both Viet Nam vets and heroes. I guess it depends on who is wearing the uniform at the time when we condemn an attack. Anyway, Moveon.org has received a tremendous increase in donations since congress condemned them, so as far as they are concerned, keep the complaints coming Congresspersons.

POPSOh John, What Have Ye Done? This article was very difficult to clip effectively. It truly spells out the tragedy of John McCain's fall from grace. A man who sold his integrity and core beliefs when he smelled, up close, the strong, aroma of power. He betrayed his own family after they were slandered by the vicious Bush team in 2000 and literally wound up kissing his enemies cheeks in order to fall into the good graces of the Evangelical base. He further ensured this by snuggling up to all the Evangelical leaders who smeared and libeled him during the campaign because the taste of power was so strong. Once a man even I as a Liberal could proudly support, he is now just a shadow of a man who at one time exemplified political greatness. A tragedy, indeed. At the heart of the Christian faith is a deep and abiding concern for the need of others. Pro-life Christians who serve in Congress should honor this commitment by supporting health care for poor children. Make these politicians pay for their hypocrisy.

POPSHate From Right-Wing Talk Radio Shows I could never understand why anyone would want to listen to the hateful shows on right-wing talk radio. Especially, those who proclaim that their religion keeps them on the straight and narrow. Listening to the disgusting rhetoric these Shock Jockeys spew forth creates barbarity in those who refuse to think... When minds are so full of the nonsense from the right-wing creeps, who's only objective is to make money and control the masses, they tend to wreck havoc upon the innocent. (case-in-point, the pathetic nut who went on a shooting rampage at the UU church in TN.) We are all in the same boat. We love and want peace so why look upon each other as though we are just pockets of vermin. Haven't we had enough HATE? I guess there are some who would answer NO, because they live for aversion. Here's a little advice for DITTO-HEADS, you can live in peace, it's really quite simple, just turn your damn radios off and have a nice day. :)
