Republican Revolt Against The No-Solutions-Democrats
merrie
by merrie  8-4-2008    1
Republicans were back on the floor of the House this morning and will continue throughout the week to force Democrats to return to Washington, DC and get the job done for the American people of holding a vote on energy. Check back tomorrow for more updates on The Revolt. Americans can't afford the Democrat agenda of no energy, no drilling, no solutions.

It took me a couple of years with books and a recovering brain to understand computers. He has had plenty of time if he had the interest. My motivation was the search for information and I'm loving it. McCain feels he will be needing information if he becomes president. But not now?

Here's Our New Policy On AP Stories: They're Banned
merrie
by merrie  6-22-2008    1
So here’s our new policy on A.P. stories: they don’t exist. We don’t see them, we don’t quote them, we don’t link to them. They’re banned until they abandon this new strategy, and I encourage others to do the same until they back down from these ridiculous attempts to stop the spread of information around the Internet. Those that disregard the guidelines risk being sued by the A.P., despite the fact that such use may fall under the concept of fair use.

Khan Nuke Smuggling Network Has Ties to Pentagon & "Israeli Elements"
blueridge
by blueridge  6-15-2008    5
This is what Drudge and the Wash Post do not tell you about the Khan network: 2000-2001: Nuclear Proliferation Network Penetrates Pentagon with Help of Senior Officials A nuclear proliferation network operating in the US penetrates the Pentagon and related institutions, according to FBI whistleblower Sibel Edmonds. The network, which is run by Pakistani scientist A. Q. Khan, but also includes Turkish and Israeli elements, is allegedly helped by a number of senior officials in the Pentagon. Edmonds will later say: “The provided lists of potential moles from Pentagon-related institutions who had access to databases concerning this information... One of the Pentagon figures that is a target of the FBI investigation is Larry Franklin, an analyst who will be jailed in 2006 for passing US defense information to lobbyists According to Edmonds, Franklin is “one of the top people providing information and packages during 2000 and 2001.”[/quo

Most Influential US Conservatives
merrie
by merrie  11-4-2007    2
The London Telegraph has been rolling out its list of the 100 Most Influential American Conservatives, twenty at a time, all week. The exercise has been somewhat dubious, clearly seeming to be aimed (successfully) at attracting attention from American bloggers, and I’ve refrained from commenting on it until now. They’ve now released the final installment, #1-20, and I must says it’s one poorly conceived list. Or, mere precisely, it’s a pretty good list but a simply bizarre ranking. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/exclusions/uselection/nosplit/uscons1-20.xml

LA Times Swallows for TNR

Are you kidding me? "It's also not at all clear to any fair-minded reader what the telephone transcripts actually show" WHAT? After hearing their continued defense of this guy, then reading the phone transcript tells me that the TNR guys were trying to hold on to this military-bashing with every last shred of fingernail and dignity. What a load of crap from this LAT guy. Every reference to blogs and mags that tried to get at the underlying B.S. are derogatory. AND WHAT'S MORE~they still haven't retracted it. It still, after all this, sits out there like a festering, fetid load long devoid of any telltale steam. ;-)

Clinton Plays Nice With Matt Drudge
merrie
by merrie  10-22-2007    2
That man, Matt Drudge, came to national prominence a decade ago as a nemesis of the Clintons who used the Web to peddle, gleefully, the latest news and rumor generated by the Monica Lewinsky scandal. That people in Mrs. Clinton’s campaign orbit would tip off the Drudge Report to its fund-raising numbers is in part a reflection of her pragmatic approach to dealing with potential enemies, like Newt Gingrich or Rupert Murdoch. But it also speaks to the enduring power of the Drudge Report, which mixes original reporting with links to newspaper, Internet or television reports far and wide. The site is a potent combination of real scoops, gossip and innuendo aimed at Mr. Drudge’s targets of choice — some of it delivered with no apparent effort to determine its truth, as politicians of all stripes have discovered at times.

Why Should I Choose To Be Happy?
debbyski
by debbyski  10-6-2007    13
"That leads me to the next way--fix your life. If you have things keeping you down--do everything you can to fight against it, to break free from it! If you don't like your friends, leave your friends. Find new friends. If you have an addiction--break it. If you hate the way things are going--make new goings. If you don't like your job, quit and find a new one. Even if you think you can't do anything--with the drive, anybody can do anything. There is this homeless man who sells bottled water down a busy street--I really love that guy. He posts posters up all along the street, saying great things like "Homeless, but not hopeless"--and when you look at him--you can just tell. He's a happy, striving guy, striving for better things. If he can do it--I'm sure you can."

Rush threatened Reid to "say it to my face, Senator."
Geshizar
by Geshizar  10-1-2007
Now this would be almost as good a debate as GW and Ahmadinejad. I especially like The resolution by Rep. Jack Kingston (Rep. - GA) which reads: Commending Rush Hudson Limbaugh III for his ongoing public support of American troops serving both here and abroad. Recognizing Mr. Limbaugh for his relentless efforts to build and maintain troop morale through worldwide radio broadcasts and personal visits to conflict regions. There is a big difference between supporting the troops and merely supporting policy. His first (and only) attempt to do a show before a live audience. He was literally run off the stage. Like all bullies, he is a despicable coward. I have also wondered why Rush likes those big cigars so much, maybe he has more to hide then his drug addictions.

Pot Shrinks Tumors; US Government Knew In '74
rwatuny
by rwatuny  8-29-2007    4
From the article : News coverage of the Madrid discovery has been virtually nonexistent in this country. The news broke quietly on Feb. 29, 2000 with a story that ran once on the UPI wire about the Nature Medicine article. This writer stumbled on it through a link that appeared briefly on the Drudge Report Web page. The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Los Angeles Times all ignored the story, even though its newsworthiness is indisputable: a benign substance occurring in nature destroys deadly brain tumors.
