POPSAbout eggs "Eggs have been known to, and enjoyed by, humans for many centuries. Jungle fowl were domesticated in India by 3200 B.C.E. Record from China and Egypt show that fowl were domesticated and laying eggs for human consumption around 1400 B.C.E., and there is archaeoligical evidence for egg consumption dating back to the Neolithic age. The Romans found egg-laying hens in England, Gaul, and among the Germans. The first domesticated fowl reached North America with the second voyage of Columbus in 1493." ---Encyclopedia of Food and Culture, Solomon H. Katz, editor, William Woys Weaver, associate editor 2003, Volume 1 (p. 558)

POPSChocolate Jesus I think that this sculpture and the timing of the exhibit is making a statement. After all, easter is a holiday (Holy Day), celebrated more with pagan symbols of eggs and bunnies and candy offerings than religious piety.

POPSMagnetic Gun Stops Teeny Bullets Mid-Air The coilgun consists of 64 hand-made units (about $25 each) and is powered by its own capacitor. That is about as much as it will cost tp fill the car for easter. No we'll buy extra eggs and stay at home.

POPSTeen faces WMD charge after plastic egg explodesmisguided Prank goes wrong. Just a little over the top with the WMD bullshit. Officials should be charged with misuse of powers. Hopefully the judge will bring in sanity. If Charlies kids can flaunt swastikas, this kid should be able to pull a prank, even if a little silly.

POPSWho are these guys in the Windows Vista DVD ? Probably put there to give people some mystery, and distract them from the mystery of the source code. Reminds me of Easter eggs. You can't tell much about a programmers personality by their algorithm. They want to be famous too, but only if you know where to look. It's amazing how making something a secret can widen your audience. The link is to a site in spanish, might need a babel fish. Still don't know who they are I'm only making an educated guess. Could be a hoax (I don't have Vista), but it seems too weird to be anything but a cunning plan being hatched.

POPSEASTER SPECIAL An egg white that is cloudy or has a yellow or greenish cast to it is caused by carbon dioxide not having had enough time to escape from the shell and is especially common in fresh eggs Smell the egg. With time, bacteria break down the proteins in the whites of the egg and create a gas. This gas is hydrogen sulfide, better known as "rotten egg gas."
