POPSDisbelief over 9/11 - at last Finally this issue of immeasurable importance is moving from the internet into the main stream media. If the idea that this was a self-inflicted strikes you as unbelievable, then do some careful research on the internet, with an open mind, and be prepared to have your beliefs challenged. If that is not convincing, read one of the three books on the subject by the academic and theologian David Ray Griffin. Let's hope this year the truth begins to be more widely disseminated. It is hard to watch Loose Change (easy to get on the internet) without concluding something is very amiss.

POPSCSM: Europeans "We separate America from the White House." June's Pew Global Attitudes poll, favorable views in Britain dropped from 83 to 51 percent between 2000 and 2007. In France, they fell from 62 to 39. Germany fell from 78 to 30 percent. "We found strong negatives on US foreign policy based on a feeling the US acts unilaterally in the world," says Richard Wike "But Europeans rate the American people far higher than the country." "You get angry, but what can you do? I think everyone is now waiting. It is easy to blame America for everything, and a lot of us do." There's a sense that US foreign policy is shifting away from a "with us or against us" mentality. Younger Europeans say the US has been humbled, and that a democratic process is under way. "We lost the basic trust that our parents had in America. We are critical.... A lot of us want to say we aren't the US; many of us feel proud to be 'old Europe"

POPSArtist Charts-Free MP3 downloads from MP3.com.au A site that has charts for MP3 downloads, and where downloads are free. It is Australian, and I chose the classical chart, but there are a number of other genres. There's bound to be some kind of music there to suit everyone. I keep getting more amazed at the things I am finding just because I took the trouble to look.

POPSEvangelicals Fear the Loss of Their Teenagers Interesting article. I like how they point to MTV & yout cuture as culprits.. probably rightly so. Kids these days have soo much access to information, so much ability to communicate with other kids from around the country and around the world, and such mixed messages from media, etc it's not hard to see why this is happneing.

POPSRape Apology: When a Man is the Victim This blog post is not about rap artists. I write this, because I know there are clippers who can not stand rap or hip hop. But if you care about rape and violence in the culture, take a few minutes to set aside your dislike and watch. You can even fast forward. There is also a racial element to this sad story: Just one excerpt: White guy: I didn’t know you could lose your viriginity at 11-years-old. Other white guy: Well, we can’t, but he did. The blog post is and the links therein are worth reading. There is reference to the rape of Anthony Kiedis, lead singer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers who "lost his virginity" (more like taken) at age 12 to his father's girlfriend, with the father's approval. Imagine the uproar if the same incident was about a 12-year old girl.

POPSHip-hop homophobes continues: Why do they do it? Why do hip-hop artists – often the victims of bigotry themselves – incite this hatred? For 10 years, Terrence Dean was at the heart of the hip-hop scene as a producer at MTV and Warner Brothers. His life is as ghetto as any of the big name artists. His mother was a heroin-addicted, Aids-infected prostitute whose "clients" held Terrence hostage at gunpoint. His drunken grandmother raised him in the slums of Detroit, and he eventually ended up in prison. When he was released, he headed for Hollywood – and he was amazed to stumble into a gay underworld stocked with some of the biggest names in hip-hop. (more at source)

POPSBerkeley College:Arabs Attack Jewish Students
Husam Zakharia, who also attacked one of the performers, Yehuda De Sa. The fight was finally broken up by John Moghtader, a senator in the UC Berkelely student organization. Police were called in and arrested Zakharia along with others from his group, charging them with battery. Witnesses said that the Arab students shouted anti-Semitic curses and epithets throughout the incident, calling the Jews “Nazis” and “dogs,” and threatening to kill them. According to one witness, as many as 20 anti-Israel students participated in the attacks. In a statement, the Zionist Freedom Alliance said “we call on state officials, the President of the University of California, the Chancellor, the Dean of Students, faculty, and the student body to take a unified stand against the continued harassment of Jewish and pro-Israel students on this campus, particularly by members of Students for Justice in Palestine,” the anti-Israel group whose leaders began the incitement and attacked the concert goers.

POPSFox News Has Hired A Supporter of Convicted Cop-Killer As An"Analyst" and "Contributor" and "started a literacy project that uses hip-hop culture to increase school engagement and reading skills among high school students." It also says that he works with the ACLU Drug Reform Project, "focusing on drug informant policy." The ACLU favors legalization of all drugs. James Pera, a retired San Francisco Police Sergeant who saw first-hand the violence of the BLA and the Weather Underground, asked, "Why does O'Reilly pander to this tool of the left? I don't know. If they can bash the Obama Administration for not vetting left-wing radical Van Jones, shouldn’t they explain how Marc Lamont Hill was hired and who hired him?
