7 Writing Habits of Amazing Writers
Aribeth
by Aribeth  9-3-2008    2
This extremely prolific writer has won numerous awards, including the National Book Award. She writes in longhand, and while she doesn’t have a formal schedule, she says she prefers to write in the morning, before breakfast . She’s a creative writing professor, and on the days she teaches, she says she writes for an hour or 45 minutes before leaving for her first class. On other days, when the writing is going well, she can work for hours without a break — and has breakfast at 2 or 3 in the afternoon!

Pope Reasserts Catholic Supremacy Over Protestants
blueridge
by blueridge  7-13-2008    14
His Unholiness reasserts the pre-Reformation, tyrannical and usurping tradition of Papal authority and Roman Catholic supremacy as if Jesus Christ himself taught or authorized his ceremonial priest-craft and Latin Mass ( which is idolatry ), where his Blasphemy, through waving his magic wand and reciting Latin formula ( hocus pocus ) is able to (if you believe this) transform (transubstantiation) mere wafers of bread ("heil presto"--poof!) into the "body of Christ"! Jesus and the apostles never taught such superstition (which hails from Roman paganism, mixed well in its holidays and ecclesiastical hierarchy). The Pope is following the false teaching of Simon Magus, the sorcerer, instead of Simon Peter the apostle. Ritual, ceremony, miters, crosses, candles, pilgrimages, liturgies, and shepherd staffs all make a show of religion (tracing back to Babylonian religions) contrary to the writings of the new testament.

Americans Need Not Apply
sahara
by sahara  6-29-2008
Corporations that were formerly thought of as great American companies have betrayed their home and their people and now wave the banner of globalist corporations instead of the American flag. They have no loyalty to the American worker who has grown old in a lifetime of service to their corporations. And they have no sense of obligation to the generations who now seek a future with them. Governmental departments like the FDA are to blame for lowering safety standards and not having the courage to hold politicians and corporations accountable when safety and standards are compromised. They are too weak to demand proper funding so safety measures can be assured. The link below will lead you to a site that lists American products proudly made by American workers. While you are there, visit the site in total for it is a treasure trove of information. http://www.devvy.com/made_inthe_usa.html

How You Live

This Day In History: An Open Letter To Google
merrie
by merrie  6-16-2008
Dear Google comrades Sergei and Larry! The Party looks kindly at your attempts to correct and improve history by unobtrusively modifying the Google logo on notable calendar dates. For years you have zealously informed the masses about progressive and useful events like Earth Day or Earth Hour, while purposefully ignoring Memorial Day (no logo change on this reactionary American holiday). Most recently, you enlightened the unwashed about the Spanish artist Velázquez on June 6 without mentioning the Allied Invasion of Normandy on D-Day, a celebration of which would indeed be offensive to National Socialists. ~ The time is ripe for us to reinforce your amateurish efforts with our brand of historical revisionism that stands on a firm scientific foundation of the Party doctrine. The next big holiday is Independence Day. Review the following list of Party-recommended events and logos for mandatory inclusion.

Philippine Independence Day celebrated only by a few
saan-kpa
by saan-kpa  6-12-2007
This is a more serious clip for me... For international clippers, the holiday economics policy of President Arroyo is to move certain holidays that fall on Thursdays or Tuesdays to Fridays or Mondays, respectively, so that the weekend becomes longer. Sure, it's economical, but I still believe that a bit of the meaning of the holiday itself is lost. It really gets to me when President Arroyo stresses economic development and progress and considers them the key to lifting our countrymen out of poverty (see her speech in the article). In my opinion, the government should focus more on education. Economic development primarily benefits those who are educated - and in this country, those who belong to the upper classes. Should the government pursue this line of thinking, the rich will only get richer, and the poor poorer, as they say.
