Social injustice breeds extremists
darkduskx
by darkduskx  9-24-2008    1
You can't truly say he's about love. It is wrong for him to want a nation for 7.2 million to be destroyed. That would only cause another refugee crisis if not countless deaths as we are seeing in Iraq. One cannot speak of love and totally demonize a nation of people. The reason his extremist point of view is accepted instead of opposed though is because he keeps pointing out injustices in order to justify his extremism. If we were to solve the Israeli-Palestinian issue and others once and for all, extremists like him would not have as much support. People of all sides who want peace need to unite and push for social justice so injustice does not breed extremists. From this clip you know there is people on both sides and in the US who want peace once and for all: http://clipmarks.com/clipmark/9537C8CD-538E-4BF3-AA9B-D28EAACF6463/ I'm an American and I do not want my own country to collapse. Iran's leader says 'American empire' near collapse
paleblue

Watched his speech and I have to say the man speaks more of love, God, and peace then either the Israeli leader, bush or the pope -- and again just like other leaders that America says are bad he speaks more truth than lies.. I believe the reason our Govt. hates him and Chavez is because they can't control neither both are self sustaining with oil reserves. And he's smarter than bush to boot! And if things keep going the way they are he's right! The greed of a few has bought us to our knees. I can't believe that Obama had to bring up the idea that the American tax payer should reap a portion of any gains from the near trillion lend.. Shouldn't that have been in the proposal from the start -- which tells me they just want to save themselves so they can start all over again!!

Israel Wants to Attack Iran, US Military Aid Denied
blueridge
by blueridge  9-12-2008    1
Israel is impotent without the U.S.. They have always used America in their own war agendas. Note the strategic importance in the big picture of Iraqi air space which this Israeli news article mentions! This is just one reason why Israel and the neocon agenda demanded regime change in Iraq, which clears the way for further wars of aggression in the region by Israel, under a pretense of a "war on terrorism" (which both Obama and McCain will continue). Note too that while the US has been somewhat restraining Israel, this is mentioned too: Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, in private discussions, even raised the possibility that the U.S. was considering an attack in the transition period between the election in November and the inauguration of the new president in January 2009.

Bush Wants $1 Billion to Georgia for Attacking South Ossetia
blueridge
by blueridge  9-6-2008    4
The NYT finally admits that Georgia was the aggressor: "fighting that began on the night of Aug. 7 when Georgia tried to establish control over a breakaway region, South Ossetia, only to be driven back by Russian forces". And to put that $1 billion figure in perspective the articles says: The aid would dwarf the $63 million the United States provided to Georgia last year, roughly a third of it for training its soldiers, police officers and border guards. Excluding Iraq, the infusion would make Georgia one of the largest recipients of American foreign aid after Israel and Egypt. That Dick Cheney was "sent" by Bush is indicative of the neocon agenda. Georgia did not attack without US or Israeli knowledge, but with their full support. So in essence, the US is to pay $1billion to Georgia for a defeated military invasion and attempt to capture South Ossetia--i.e. for a proxy war.

Israel Behind Georgia's Invasion of S. Ossettia
blueridge
by blueridge  9-1-2008    2
This in Israeli press, but not in the U.S. MSM. Of course it was a Hezbollah leader who has exposed this truth and of course will be denounced. But the facts remain true and easily verified. Israel (and the neocons, Cheney had a man in Georgia prior to the war) were behind Georgia's invasion (and murder of civilians) of South Ossetia who declared independence from Georgia over a decade ago. What the Hezbollah leader says (mocking Israel) is true, they stopped Israel's (unjust) war against Lebanon (bombing 70 percent of the country's infrastructure in a "disproportionate response") which was part of a neocon-Israeli plan for a "new middle east". Russia stopped the neocon-Israeli plans for the recapture of Ossetia.

Israel Backs Georgia in Caspian Oil Pipeline Battle with Russia
merrie
by merrie  8-14-2008    1
until a "durable peace" is reached. "As soon as a durable peace takes hold we need to move forward with dialogue and peaceful negotiations." DEBKAfile’s geopolitical experts note that on the surface level, the Russians are backing the separatists of S. Ossetia and neighboring Abkhazia as payback for the strengthening of American influence in tiny Georgia and its 4.5 million inhabitants. However, more immediately, the conflict has been sparked by the race for control over the pipelines carrying oil and gas out of the Caspian region. The Russians may just bear with the pro-US Georgian president Mikhail Saakashvili’s ambition to bring his country into NATO. But they draw a heavy line against his plans and those of Western oil companies, including Israeli firms, to route the oil routes from Azerbaijan and the gas lines from Turkmenistan, which transit Georgia, through Turkey instead of hooking them up to Russian pipelines.

The Israeli-Georgia Connection, $1 Billion and Oil
blueridge
by blueridge  8-11-2008    1
"A new pipeline is being built to bypass Russia". The news about Russia's attacks on Georgia highlighted that oil pipelines were targetted. Could this be the real reason Bush is speaking out against Russia? I was thinking how hypocritical of Bush (although I do not disagree necessarily with the conclusion) that Russia's military action was "disproportionate" (over the top) against Georgia, when he was silent on Israel's destroying of Lebanon (for capturing soldiers). Just whose or what principle interest is Bush really defending in criticizing Russia?

Rice Says She Won't Block Strikes Against Nuclear Sites
merrie
by merrie  8-9-2008
"We don't say yes or no to Israeli military operations; Israel is a sovereign country," Ms. Rice said. "Every day that the centrifuges continue to spin brings Iran closer to a nuclear weapons capability and threatens the stability and security of the region and the world," Israel's ambassador in Washington, Sallai Meridor, said. "The international community should immediately apply additional robust sanctions." The Security Council, which has imposed three rounds of mild sanctions on Iran since 2006, has traditionally taken its time before agreeing on compromise action that manages to satisfy Russia, China, and several European countries that prefer conducting business with Iran to halting its nuclear run . The process is also very slow, the American U.N. ambassador, Zalmay Khalilzad, acknowledged yesterday.

Dr. Zack Overlooked as Anthrax Suspect
blueridge
by blueridge  8-4-2008    2
This article is worth reading in its entirety. While dated 2002, it may have well been written yesterday, substituting the "suicided" suspect for what back then was Hatfill. The facts are relevant and suggestive. Dr. Zack seems to fit the profile of motive, means, and opportunity (access) , upon reading, then the now deceased. He is also a dual Israeli citizen with an obvious prejudice and gripe against Arabs, even if American citizens with whom he worked. Do not miss the anonymous letter to the FBI that called his Arab co-worker a "bioterrorist", which the FBI considered a hoax after investigation, and how close that sounds to the Anthrax hoax letters that said "Allah is great".
