POPSAnother Nail in Cable's Coffin I'm not watching cable TV just because I'm not free to choose (I mean completely free) and of course of commercials. In goal oriented information is not easy to insert manipulative technique. Apple QuickTime player is the best in quality and stability, the same for their hardware. So welcome, Apple, in our virtual life.

POPSHow Last.fm inspired a scientific breakthrough
How does it work? At the basic level, students can "drag and drop" research papers into the site at mendeley.com, which automatically extracts data, keywords, cited references, etc, thereby creating a searchable database and saving countless hours of work. That in itself is great, but now the Last.fm bit kicks in, enabling users to collaborate with researchers around the world, whose existence they might not know about until Mendeley's algorithms find, say, that they are the most-read person in Japan in their niche specialism. You can recommend other people's papers and see how many people are reading yours, which you can't do in Nature and Science. Mendeley says that instead of waiting for papers to be published after a lengthy procedure of acquiring citations, they could move to a regime of "real-time" citations, thereby greatly reducing the time taken for research to be applied in the real world and actually boost economic growth. There are lots of research archives. For the physica

POPS"Google this: 'Patriotism'" bing is supposedly more "family friendly" than Google. I recommend swagbucks.com. You can earn points or swagbucks when you search that can later be exchanged for swag. You don't get a buck with every search but as you use searches over time you start to build them up. The swag at their store can range from gift cards to MP3 player to tee shirts to musical instruments. They even have an area where you can swap video games with others & earn extra swagbucks. I've just started using this site so I haven't been with them long enough to rack up too many bucks but I have a friend that bought her husband an iTunes gift card for his birthday this year which was nice since money is tight at their house right now.

POPS Jobs Takes Stage Again At Apple The stock gave up those gains, though, as the holiday rollout failed to include substantial surprises, notably the inclusion of Beatles music in the iTunes online store. Instead, Mr Jobs touted a revamp to iTunes, now called iTunes 9, with $1.29 ringtones, whilst Jeff Robbin, vice-president of iTunes engineering, demonstrated the extras that will now come with the sale of a full album, including photos, lyrics and, in some cases, exclusive video.

POPSDirty business, exposed O boy, another 'scandal' related to Apple. I'm neither a fan nor an outspoken critic of Apple. But there's a lot going on lately around Apple and it doesn't look good. And yes, the world is unfair. I know. But that doesn't make it right.

POPS'iTunes university' better than the real thing
Students who downloaded the podcast averaged a C (71 out of 100) on the test - substantially better than those who attended the lecture, who on average mustered only a D (62). But that difference vanished among students who watched the podcast but did not take notes.Students who listened to the podcast one or more times and took notes had an average score of 77, McKinney says. To find out how much students really can learn from podcast lectures alone - mimicking a missed class - McKinney's team presented 64 students with a single lecture on visual perception, from an introductory psychology course. Half of the students attended the class in person and received a printout of the slides from the lecture. The other 32 downloaded a podcast that included audio from the same lecture synchronised with video of the slides. These students also received a printed handout of the material. The researchers told the students they would be tested on the material in a week, and they also asked

POPSPlanet Vegan is Waiting for You to Land - Grin It may be a bit difficult to switch from being a once a day or more often meat eater but your better physical and mental health will be well worth it. you will also have a bit more money at the end of the week for new iTunes expenditures or whatever. Enjoy. Oh? Why a bit difficult? Your body will crave some of the toxins in the meat for a while and habit is habit.

POPS HTML5 Will Kill The OS! We’ve heard that story before. Java was supposed to raise apps above the level of the operating system, offering cross-platform “write once, run everywhere” applications that would break the coupling between an application and a specific operating system. Proponents predicted Windows would become less important with the rise of Java apps. While Java has accomplished a great deal, it’s potential as an OS-killer has not been realized. HTML5 has a better shot.

POPSAcademic Earth - Free Lecture Videos From Top Scholars With so much of this going on (iTunes Store has iTunes U as well, and there must be others) why even bother going to a university for much of a degree? Shouldn't there be a reduced tuition for those who can pass a competency exam based on self-paced online study? Sort of an Internet University BA?
