POPSCan'tPass It? Just Make an Executive Orderby

The rest of the article argues mainly from the left but the opening shows the hubris of this arrogant radical Progressivist. Sure, he's appeasing conservatives' goal to cut entitlements, but I sense it comes from the opposite ideology. The elderly may be more conservative (who needs 'em) and the social-ist progressive would direct entitlement to young and the liberal. One feels the elder cuts are just to make the rest of it look not as bad.

POPSJust remember this crap election-time! Jack Cafferty, CNN's resident left-wing liberal, slams House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. He calls her endorsement of the illegal "Slaughter Solution" tactic to try and pass the health care bill without a vote as "beyond sleazy". Article 1, Section 7, Clause 2 If after such Reconsideration two thirds of that House shall agree to pass the Bill, it shall be sent, together with the Objections, to the other House, by which it shall likewise be reconsidered, and if approved by two thirds of that House, it shall become a Law. But in all such Cases the Votes of both Houses shall be determined by Yeas and Nays, and the Names of the Persons voting for and against the Bill shall be entered on the Journal of each House respectively.

POPSGroups Slam Obama's Silence On Palestinian Incitement From the comments of a Jewish Press Reader: Waiting for Obama Date 03-18, 10 Jews are waiting with longing for Obama's "Sister Souljah Moment" when he illustrates balance by criticizing the acts of the Pali extremists. Here's a clue: Don't hold your breath. Barack ibnHussein alObama is an anti-Jewish, anti-Israeli third world moslem totalitarian. He will as soon see you die as raise a finger in your defense. Here's another clue. Get ahold of your American liberal Jewish cousins who are selling you out, and tell them to wake up.

POPSGlenn Beck Denounces Jesus’ Values
Mr. Beck, in vilifying churches that promote “social justice,” managed to insult just about every mainline Protestant, Roman Catholic, African-American, Hispanic and Asian congregation in the country — not to mention plenty of evangelical ones. Even Mormon scholars in Mr. Beck’s own church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, said in interviews that Mr. Beck seemed ignorant of just how central social justice teaching was to Mormonism. The controversy began when Mr. Beck said on his radio show: “I beg you, look for the words ’social justice’ or ‘economic justice’ on your church Web site. If you find it, run as fast as you can. Social justice and economic justice, they are code words. “Am I advising people to leave their church? Yes! If I am going to Jeremiah Wright’s church,” he said, referring to the incendiary black pastor who led the church attended by the Obama family members when they lived in Chicago. “If you have a priest that is pushing social justice, go f

POPSGood News for Textbooks "But this just reflects the general leftist and anti-Austrian bias of modern universities. Austrian theory is the most logically coherent and empirically relevant around, and the fact that economics departments generally pretends it doesn't exist is no argument for why Texas schools should do the same. If anything, it makes this change all the more justified."

POPSNot Even A Vote?! Just when you thought Washington couldn't get more corrupt, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi this week seems intent on trampling representative government itself. Unable to get the votes to pass their U.S. health care revolution, she and her fellow Democratic leaders have figured out a way to pass it without a vote. Amy Ridenour, president of the National Center for Public Policy Research, is among a number of legal scholars who believe this Slaughter Solution, named after House Rules Committee Chairwoman Louise Slaughter, D-N.Y., "would stand a very good chance of being tossed out by the U.S. Supreme Court."

POPSOne-Third of Doctors Could Leave Medicine if Health-Care Reform Bill Passes, New England Journal of Medicine
If a public option were included in the legislation, as several liberal Senators have indicated they would like , the number would jump to 45.7 percent. The medical journal published the results in its March and April edition, saying: “While a sudden loss of half of the nations physicians seems unlikely, a very dramatic decrease in the physician workforce could become a reality as an unexpected side effect of health reform.” Kevin Perpetua, managing partner for the Medicus Firm, reported that a reform bill could be “the final straw” in an already financially precarious industry . “Many physicians feel that they cannot continue to practice if patient loads increase while pay decreases,” Perpetua said in the study. “The overwhelming prediction from physicians is that health reform, if implemented inappropriately, could create a detrimental combination of circumstances, and result in an environment in which it is not possible for most physicians ....

POPSPelosi Plan to Pass Health Care Without Traditional Vote Riles Critics Under this tactic, the House could simultaneously approve the Senate version of the bill while voting on the package of changes. This would "deem" the Senate bill passed, though not directly show members voting in favor of passage. It may sound murky, but the option is winning favor among Democrats. Pelosi reportedly told liberal bloggers Monday that "nobody wants to vote for the Senate bill," and so she's strongly considering the non-vote vote. "I like it, because people don't have to vote on the Senate bill," she said. Republicans are dubious. "That's not exactly a ringing endorsement for a plan that will remake one-sixth of the American economy," Boehner's office said. TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION IS TYRANNY!

POPSJava Drinkers in Washington Kick Off Coffee Parties WATCH THE COFFEE PARTY THERAPY SESSION I decided to attend the Coffee Party to find out what it is all about. Most of the people were really upset that the Tea Party movement has had so much success to thwart the Leftist agenda. The Coffee Party certainly isn't going to grow as large at the Tea Party movement unless people in the media continues to fawn over it. HowTheWorldWorks http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WgRGxuVP0_I

POPSContrary To All The Theories, Democrats Will Not Benefit From ObamaCare
History holds no examples of unpopular Washington policy quickly growing in public favor. History is brimming with illustrations of legislation the public came to hate even more than when it passed. An equally popular theory is the "We Must Close the Enthusiasm Gap" line. Democrats are demoralized. If the White House does not provide its base a big victory, they will sit out the election. To believe this is to believe that a liberal base that remains furious with the White House on Guantanamo, on Afghanistan, on cap and trade, will turn out in enthusiastic droves because the White House passed a health bill that the same base views as a cop out. That base doesn't want a health-care victory; it wants a public option. Unless the president is prepared to give it to them, Democrats might not want to bet November on base support. Next up is the "Democrats Must Prove They Can Lead" theory. Until as recently as January, the party had complete control of Washington.

POPSSocial Gospel In the United States prior to World War I, the Social Gospel was the religious wing of the progressive movement which had the aim of combating injustice, suffering and poverty in society. During the New Deal of the 1930s Social Gospel themes could be seen in the work of Harry Hopkins, Will Alexander and Mary McLeod Bethune, who added a new concern with African Americans. After 1940, the movement withered, but was invigorated in the 1950s by black leaders like Baptist minister Martin Luther King and the civil rights movement. After 1980 it weakened again as a major force inside mainstream churches; indeed those churches were losing strength. Examples of its continued existence can still be found, notably the organization known as the Call to Renewal and more local organizations like the Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy.

POPSLies Democrats Tell Themselves on Obamacare Finally, there is the Revisionist History crew, which today argues that Democrats lost Congress in 1994 because of the failure to pass HillaryCare. Honest Democrats wince at this myth, and recall the real history of their trouncing: ethics scandals, an unpopular health bill and a public backlash against a Democratic president who campaigned as a moderate but then governed as a liberal. How eerily familiar.

POPSCPUSA - Now Where Have I Seen That Before?
but it's as phony as Jeremiah Wright's Christianity. These are the soi-disant shock troops of the Obama Revolution - just like ACORN, except, you know, "articulate and bright and clean and nice-looking" - but they're pimping themselves as a bunch of ordinary, decent, middle-of-the-roaders disillusioned with the vicious partisanship that is hobbling the legislative process. "We are not Democrats," they chant. Still not convinced? Look again at their name - The Coffee Party USA. The CPUSA. Now that's somewhat familiar. Let me think. Where have I....Of course! CPUSA. How could I be so dumb. The beloved acronym of that mighty pillar of the American democratic tradition, The Communist Party of the USA . Go to the Communist PartyUSA website to drink of the elixir of freedom they purvey. POPSWoman Jailed For Drinking Coffee With Man; Can That Happen Here?
The men were from Saudi Arabia's Commission for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, a police force of several thousand men charged with enforcing dress codes, sex segregation and the observance of prayers. Yara, whose parents are Jordanian and grew up in Salt Lake City, once believed that life in Saudi Arabia was becoming more liberal. But on Monday the religious police took her mobile phone, pushed her into a cab and drove her to Malaz prison in Riyadh. She was interrogated, strip-searched and forced to sign and fingerprint a series of confessions pleading guilty to her “crime”. “They took me into a filthy bathroom, full of water and dirt. They made me take off my clothes and squat and they threw my clothes in this slush and made me put them back on,” she said. Eventually she was taken before a judge. “He said 'You are sinful and you are going to burn in hell'. I told him I was sorry. I was very submissive. I had given up. I felt hopeless,” she said.

POPSRasmussen Poll: Worst Day Ever for Obama’s Presidential Approval Index Numbers
Could it be that dead horse of a horrible health care bill that Dear Leader keeps beating to cross some fictional finish line that is making his approval index among American voters drop more than it has ever dropped? Or is it his ineptitude on understanding how the free market works? Or is it his coddling of Islamic jihadists? Or is it the denial of AGW data corruption and compromised results on that despicable global warming sham (plus record snow and cold throughout most of the world)? Or is it his obsession with golfing and holding rallies at liberal colleges (love that applause!) and jetting around every week on Air Force One instead of actually leading? Rhetorical questions… Obama’s worst day ever on Rasmussen: From American Thinker: http://bit.ly/aO0iCg The relentless push for ObamaCare is driving down President Obama’s net disapproval rating to its worst performance ever. POPS Why Democrats Don't Care about $9.7 Trillion Debt by Dennis Prager
I suspect that most Americans, if asked whether these numbers trouble the Democratic leadership and President Obama, would answer in the affirmative. They would be wrong. They would be wrong not because the Democratic Party or the president are economically illiterate or bad individuals, but because the Democratic Party and the president are leftists.... President Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and most Democratic representatives and senators are not liberals; they are leftists. And most Americans do not understand the difference between liberal and left. They do not realize, for example, that there is no major difference between the American Democratic Party and the leftist social democratic parties of Western Europe. They do not know that from Karl Marx to Obama, the left (as opposed to liberals) has never created wealth because it has never been interested in creating wealth; it is interested in redistributing wealth.

POPS"Undercover Boss" Bursting Bubbles
This new TV series dramatically shows how clueless the SuperRich have become Undercover Boss, is new CBS reality show in which corporate CEOs don disguises and spend a few days experiencing what it's like to be a low-level worker at their companies. It quickly has become one of the most popular shows on TV. I haven't seen it yet but a few of it's promos caught my attention: I want to see it. That doesn't happen too often for a TV series. The stats in this clip about the growing gap between the SuperRich and the Middle classes and poor are truly staggering -- and it's not just on paper, we see it in our work worlds (like this show illustrates) -- we see it in the growth of gated-communities -- we hear about the special privileges day after day. Folks here and there talk about Left vs. Right and Liberal vs. Blagh Blagh but a worldwide and eternal fact of political struggles is: Unfair Advantages of the Rich vs. Misery of the Poor -- and we're in the midst of it again.

POPSThe End of the Line - A Documentary to Protect Our Marine Life Have you ever heard of the Liberals, Labor and The Greens joining forces to support, well, anything? It took concern for our oceans to make it happen. Just last week the Liberal MP Dr Mal Washer, Labor's MP Melissa Parke and The Greens Senator Rachel Siewert joined forces to co-host the first screening in a parliament of the powerful new documentary about the impacts of over fishing, The End Of The Line. All three MPs agreed to take part because they share our concerns about the impacts of over fishing on our marine environment. Quite simply, they too don't want to see our globally significant marine life suffer the same fate as that graphically depicted in The End Of The Line. (from a newsletter that introduced this movie to me).
