POPSHave you ever had visions of living like The Addams Family? Or maybe you just want to make your family and friends wonder about you... No matter how normal your home decor is, it’s fun to have something around to make people gasp, and then (maybe) laugh. But if you put all the products I found together, you’d have a truly scary home.<< I'd like the blood puddle pillow :-)

POPSBan The Plastic Bag Bangladesh slapped an outright ban on all polythene bags in 2002 after they were found to have been the main culprit during the 1988 and 1998 floods that submerged two-thirds of the country. Discarded bags had choked the country's drainage systems. Nylon fishing nets, fishing line, bags, 6-pack rings etc, kill hundreds of thousands of animals every year and will continue to do so for hundreds, if not thousands of years to come. Horrible, panicked and painful deaths by drowning, suffocation or internal damage. If Bangladesh can ban the plastic bag and get by, surely so could we!

POPSThe American Flag I agree, the flag's been hijacked and turned into a logo. This clip is to illustrate the silliness of the "flag-wavers", who yell anti-American or traitor, at anyone who has the conscience to oppose the unjust war in Iraq (or elsewhere) This is for those, who think that draping oneself in stars and stripes thoughtlessly and manically, is nothing more than a misguided political fashion statement of people desperately trying to 'prove' their equally misguided patriotism. Silly really, isn't it? .;)

POPSAn Album of Indian Gods The picture of the Goddess Kali was the inspiration for the famous Rolling Stones logo, designed by John Pasche in 1971. It was shown to the artist by Mick Jagger because he was looking for something similar. Of course the result was pretty different, but also wonderful. Thanks again to knslyr , for introducing this awesome blog to us months ago. Since then, it has become one of my favourites.

POPSLOGO R.I.P. dead logotypes graveyard "In today's ruthless business environment, corporations face uncertain futures. The forces of globalisation are creating unprecedented change. Yet apart from the displacement, downsizing and elimination of the workforce, the other casualties are the visual manifestations of the company: its logo, or trademark. 'LOGO R.I.P.' is a commemoration of logos withdrawn from the ocular landscape. Many are considered icons of their time or international design classics, whilst others cost millions only to be replaced within a year or two. These logos disappeared, yet in contrast to the ceremony and pomp that greeted their arrival, they often suffered an ignoble death. Now deemed defunct, they are consigned to the logo graveyard, no longer allowed to signify."

POPSJudging Candidates by Their Logos Let’s talk campaign logos, shall we? Tiny, simple and usually ignored, these logos contain the very essence of the candidates, distilled into their purest form. In these logos we view their souls. Overwrought? yes; but they are still our subject, mainly because it’ll be fast and easy to do. So! Onward and upwards!

POPSJapanese Fashion: Paranoid + Crazy + Stupid This is just weird on weird with weird sauce! I've always been amused by the fact that people who live in safe countries are often the most afraid of crime, but this goes far beyond the mere synchronicity of bourgeois ennui and paranoia. While this will probably be a big hit at the Peter R. H. Sellers Memorial School for Espionage and Sleuthing, I can't imagine how impossibly stupid someone would have to be to ACTUALLY fall for it. LOOK! You can see her sneakers sticking out from the bottom of the "vending machine!" Can you imagine someone hiding in this? There is something really messed up with Japan these days, on a monumentally surreal level!

POPSLogo Can Make You 'Think Different' >> “These experiments demonstrate that most any brand that has strong associations with particular traits could have the capacity to influence how we act,” Chartrand said. Consumers should be aware that they are susceptible to influences they may not detect and use this knowledge to their advantage. “If you know you need to perform well on some task, say something athletic, you may want to surround yourself with images and brand logos that represent success in athletics.” <<

POPSNew CM shirts and their virtual versions for Second Life As some of you would probably remember, I made some Clipmarks t-shirts four months ago and placed the package at popular freebie places at Second Life, as a free giveaway. By now, more than one thousand people got that shirts package. But now, forget those old stuff. There's the new freebie package with the brand new Clipmarks shirts. Almost identical with the real ones, so you can make your avatar wear them and spread the word in the metaverse too.
