POPSNow Obama a Big Spender; Baby Killer
Divide & Conquer; Divide & Conquer...after the apparently failed effort to link Obama to Arabs, Muslims and "domestic terrorism," the new McCain-Palin pitch is on the sensitive and difficult topic of abortion, appealing to their evangelical Christian moralist base. Again and again I've been reminded of the words of an American writer, way back in the 1930's -- "When fascism comes to America, it will come carrying the flag and the cross." (Sinclair Lewis) It's a sad, sad issue; it's not something anybody really wants, like saying: "Wow, I want to go out today and have an abortion!" No,-- the Average Person -- the average person wants to do something like go out and buy a car, go out and have a nice meal, go out and get high, go out to the movies or a concert, go out and meet some cool people or cool person. IMO, it comes down to this: We should not be making laws to enforce our religious views on others. Using this as another "social values" issue is the real horror he

POPSUK Rushes Bailout Plan for Troubled Banks UK moves to nationalize struggling banks. Sounds like a run on a few banks in the UK could strap them for cash. Do they have the equivalent of FDIC, are the people accounts insured by the government? The moves are to provide enough "cash on hand for day to day operations"--i.e. consumer withdrawals: To address the collapse of confidence in money markets, the standby facility should ensure big banks have enough cash to fund day-to-day operations.

POPSMessages from Jesus--Prophecy http://www.greatdreams.com/sacred/dire_jesus.htm I can't personally vouch for the validity of all of these messages and prophecies, but many of them have already occurred. Many graces are avaliable through confession, the rosary and the Eucharist.

POPS"CIA is taking over the churches" ?!
Case in point: Daniel Ellsberg. Once a seminary student, then an officer in Vietnam, and finally working for the nation's highest intelligence organization, he was ordered to compile all the records of our war in Vietnam into a readable history. Ellsberg got them published by The New York Times, instead of keeping them secret. Otherwise known as the Pentagon Papers, these records showed how America deceived its own citizens and fostered a war in that far Southeast Asian country, of which we are still feeling the effects today. President Richard Nixon, to try to discredit Daniel Ellsberg, set up the "plumbers" spies who ransacked Ellsberg's psychiatrist office. Tricky Dick then used these same plumbers to tap the Democratic Headquarters in the Watergate office buildings. Other former CIA agents, like Phillip Agee and John Stockwell, told their stories of intrigue and American meddling in the affairs of other countries. All had a religious background and a penchant for telling the

POPSLindsay & Clay Proclaim Love; But Not For Each Other I wanted to clip this to say that I think it's a very personal thing to come out. Lord knows I was in the closet as a bisexual woman for a long time, and still am to a great degree for several reasons. One is personal safety. One is that that it's really nobodies business. And it would be nice if everyone had that kind of attitude, but ppl don't and on a totally different level it's so personally freeing to unchain that bondage that keeps something inside you that feels so dishonest from others. You really can't be yourself until you are yourself, and hiding that very important part of yourself is very hurtful and destructive to the essence of who you are. But you do it to protect the people you love from inflicting societies pain upon them. I can understand why some people wouldn't want to come out. It's safe; even if it does slowly destroy you. So, I'll leave the judgment to the pundits. That's what they do best :)

POPSWhat it takes to be a Catholic man... Pope St. Gregory the Great : "What can we men , fully-grown, but weak, who are overcome by anger, inflated by pride, disquieted by ambition, corrupted by pleasure, when we see young women sent to the sword to the Kingdom of Heaven? We may not be able to attain the kingdom through battle and persecution, but let us be ashamed, that we are unwilling to follow God even in times of peace. At present God is not saying to any of us, "Die for me" , but just put to death the unlawful desires within you! Would we give our bodies for the Lord in time of war, when we are not willing to subdue their desires in time of peace?"
