POPSFlu Shots Do Not Prevent Getting the Flu If you think they do here is why you are mistaken. But of course your local and MSM news parrot whatever the CDC says while this is a multi-million dollar industry that cannot prevent you from getting the flu. The logic in this article is plain enough. Notice the emotionally charged, fear-mongering messages and ads used to press people into lining up, including many messages that say "they could save your life, or the life of your children or loved one". What absolute hype that plays on fear, when the shot cannot prevent getting the flu! To see how profitable an industry this is read about Donald Rumsfeld and Tamiflu. People feel safer with their placebo-type flu shot that cannot and will not prevent them from contracting the flu. The statements made by government and media on the subject are irresponsible hype and absolutely misleading about its effectiveness.

POPSCNN: ACORN fraud & ties to Obama If CNN is reporting it you know it's everywhere and can't be hidden anymore. This is BAD. It undermines the veracity of our elections and makes us appear like a 3rd world country. While reporting of this has been going on for a some time, it's only now *having* to be reported by the MSM. No one likes cheaters.

POPSThe MSM goes off the deep end Even Jonathan Alter of Newsweek, whom I’d normally consider in another galaxy on the responsibility scale compared to Olbermann (it’s relative), said that, perhaps, the Ayers talk from the McCain campaign is putting lives in danger. Olbermann asked why Palin doesn’t just “cut out the middle man” and call him a terrorist. In fact, Sarah Palin does not think Barack Obama is a terrorist: She worries he doesn’t appreciate the greatness that is America, or he’d have better friends. By late in the evening Olbermann had left no candidate’s mortality alone, saying that during the debate, McCain “did not look like a well man.” MSNBC is not a well network. But don’t infect the rest of us, or give crazy people any ideas or encouragement.

POPSThe Next Financial Bailout Bill Will Not Work
The truth is often so politically-incorrect. You will note that this was published in the UK, not in a US newspaper, and certainly not from the MSM. In other words get ready for a second hard sell since the first bailout bill was rejected (due to pressure from average citizens). Bush will bully-pulpit, Pelosi and Ried will scream again, and even republicans will line up, both Obama and McCain will push the same pitch and try to get wary Americans to sign on the bottom line. But the plan would not work. He says this is why bank stocks, not just investment firms are falling too: traditional banking – collecting retail deposits and making loans to ordinary customers – is barely profitable. Compared with the potential gains from a day at the currency-swap races, or a night in the derivatives casino, current accounts are cold potatoes. That is why bonus-hungry executives, at what we used to think of as boring banks, were so keen to spin the red-hot wheel of fortune. [/quo

POPS95 democrats voted against the bill Yet all we here is how it is the republican's fault. How the minority party in the house is responsible for the failure of a bill pushed by the majority even though quite a few of the minority voted for the bill. Pelosi couldn't (or more likely, wouldn't) reign in her own troops in support of the bill, so how is it the republicans are to blame?

POPSDems: Covering Up The Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac Scam Clearly, and I do mean very clearly, the Democrats have been lying about their role in causing the financial collapse of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and are lying about not having been warned over and over about the problems by Republicans. They, the Dems, actually defended what was going on. These people are either very very stupid, very very crooked, or, more likely, both. These are the kind of disgusting idiots that Obama surrounds himself with.

POPSPaulson Pleaded for McCain to Save Bailout: Schieffer
..... he Treasury Secretary was briefing Republicans in the House yesterday, the Republican conference, asked how many were ready to support the bailout plan. Only four of them held up their hands. Paulson then called, according to my sources, Senator Lindsey Graham, who is very close to John McCain, and told him: you've got to get the people in the McCain campaign, you've got to convince John McCain to give these Republicans some political cover. If you don't do that, this whole bailout plan is going to fail. So that's how, McCain, apparently, became involved. Continued . . . SCHIEFFER:I'm told that the leaders of both parties are getting close to having some kind of a bill. The question, though, is whether rank-and-file Republicans, especially, are going to vote for this . And that's where McCain comes in. It had became clear that the Dems bill had only FOUR Republican votes. View Bob Schieffer video on White House Summit:1:00 minute

POPS150 Top Economists Say "Hold Off" on Bailout The economists say: "not urgent right now" and "will create more problems", and "expressed alarm at the haste of lawmakers and the Bush administration to pass legislation". Alot different than what Bush stated Wed night in his "Financial WMD speech" isn't it? Read the advise of these experts who warn: ``The situation may get urgent, but it's not urgent right now. Right now it's a financial sector problem.'' Apparently this helped to slam on the brakes Thursday: Today Senator Richard Shelby, a Republican from Alabama, said he has ``five pages of the leading economists in America that wrote to me and the leadership saying the Paulson plan is a bad plan. It will not solve problems. It will create more problems.'' Not hearing that on the news are we? Ask yourself why the MSM does not quote these credible experts instead of parroting the propaganda of Bush's (Fed) speech that the entire economy will collapse without a deal now.

POPSGroup Claims Responsibility for Paki Marriott Bombing Interesting, while Pakistan blames Al Qaeda this "little known" group emerges (from Dubai) and takes responsibility. Interestingly they disclose what the MSM thus far has not: had targeted 250 U.S. Marines and NATO officials which he said had been at the hotel

POPSPakistan Marriott: "Truck Bombing" or Other? Hotel surveillance video show the truck a long way from the main hotel (while some news says 60 ft away, that was from the entrance carriage way, not the main building). "Why did the fire break out on the fourth and fifth floors", as reports like these confirm? It was quickly labeled too as "Pakistan's 9/11". Right. Perfect for the war on terrorism that is desired there on their sovereign soil, as if there were no opponents to Musharrefs previous rule for almost a decade. This is too convenient, and the evidence of a false flag attack is now emerging while the MSM reports the official propaganda as usual. Really, what did the Marines transport into the hotel, and up to the 4th and 5th floors, prior to fire breaking out there? We need better reporting of the entire event that we have seen in western media. Side Note: After this hotel burned for several hours intensely, the building did not "collapse" like the WTC.

POPSWhat I Like About Palin by David Warren The Ottawa Citizen I cannot think of better illustrations of the way women and blacks are reduced to stereotype by the American media, and all the other institutions of "political correctness." We see the same thing up here in Canada, with respect to women and our "visible minorities." They must not deviate from a script in which every female role model is a feminist and abortion enthusiast, every "visible" the heroic victim of oppression, demanding societal compensation. How better to cripple the individual aspirations of women and minorities? To them, the stark facts of Ms. Palin's reaction to a Down's syndrome pregnancy, and to her daughter's unseasonable one, shines as day to night against Mr. Obama's, "If my daughter makes a mistake, I don't want her punished with a baby." But there is good news, which comes through Sarah Palin herself, who, from what I can see, is ready for the trial-by-ordeal.

POPSRepublican Congressman: Russia was Right! But you won't hear this from McCain or Palin, nor Obama or other democrats, who all parrot the LIE of the neocon's official story. A bold republican Congressman is quoted, virtually paraphrasing the piece written by Pat Buchanan earlier (which I clipmarked, "Georgia Started It, Russia Finished It"). The tide against the propaganda is turning. Buchanan, Savage, now this Congressman and many more. Now this is from a Russian news agency, so to be objective I see no citation of the title that "US Intelligence" (not just the Congressman quoted) takes this view. But then the MSM does not report intelligence usually. They usually parrot the neocon propaganda. Note the unreported toll on civilians in just a few days in S. Ossetia, from Georgia's assault! More than 1500 civilians were killed in that time, according to South Ossetian authorities.

POPSMcCain's problem All politicians stretch the truth. Unfortunately, for John McCain he and Palin have taken it to new heights and the MSM is going to keep calling him on it....to his detriment.

POPSMore of ABC's creative editing Way too much to clip, but it is amazing how much they cut out. They even went so far as to edit her out in mid sentence in order to get the response they wanted.
4
POPSABC's creative editing Without any major mistakes by Palin the media is reduced to using creative editing to try and make her look bad. It's like they have gone to the Michael Moore school of reporting.

POPSMSNBC Is Buzz Flashes "Media Putz of the Week" I have always preferred MSNBC for cable news coverage, as they seemed to be the least influenced by right-wing threats. Unlike Fox, who claims to be "Fair and Balanced" when in fact they are Republican shills, MSNBC was far more able to claim that mantle. However, it appears that MSNBC is getting nervous because the two hosts they have who are more left than right, have been garnering complaints from the Republican Committee and the McCain campaign. Compared with remarks that O'Reilly or Hannity make on a regular basis, Olbermann et al, are quite mild. And then again, Olbermann has been, up til this week, the only truly lefty commentator, while FOX is ALL Conservative ALL the Time. But MSNBC has demoted Olbermann as well as Chris Matthews because the RNC did not like the fact that they questioned Sarah Palins qualifications for office. My God, is there nowhere fair minded people can turn any longer?

POPSDoes the Truth Matter? I couldn't have said it better. The MSM is now all over this. My guess is McCain will have to back off now....

POPSMika Brzezinski Hits 'Liberal Elite' Palin Critics MIKE BARNICLE: A little editorial opinion there from Mika! BRZEZINSKI: Well I'm just saying, I think there was a little veiled judgment that I don't appreciate, and I think that was incredible coming from two women that have benefited from the advances we have made and quite frankly the ability to bring our families forward and educate our children in ways that we wouldn't be able to if we didn't better ourselves. PAT BUCHANAN: This is a surprising attitude from them, isn't it? BRZEZINSKI: Thank you. BUCHANAN: Why do you think they said it in this case? Is it because Sarah Palin happens to be one of us rather than one of them? BRZEZINSKI: This is an argument Joe and I have about fairness and whether or not there are some sort of underlying unfairness when it comes to Republicans. And I just, you know, I feel it here. I'm not sure where this is coming from. It may be a woman thing.

POPSThanks MSM or Olbermann does us a solid By the end of the week, after Palin's tour de force in St. Paul, the liberal media were so befuddled that they were reduced to complaining that conservatives aren't being narrow-minded enough. Thus, Hanna Rosin--who has covered religion and politics for the Washington Post, and has also written for the New Yorker, the New Republic, and the New York Times--lamented in a piece for Slate: "So cavalier are conservatives about Sarah Palin's wreck of a home life that they make the rest of us look stuffy and slow-witted by comparison." I suppose it was ungenerous of conservatives, in our broad-mindedness and tolerance of human frailty, to have let Ms. Rosin down, just when she was counting on us to bring out the tar and feathers. But she gives us too much credit when she suggests we make the liberal media look stuffy and slow-witted. They do that all by themselves.

POPSPakistan Furious Over U.S. Insurgency Everything that Bush accused Russia of (not respecting sovereignty of Georgia) suddenly does not apply. Every invasion of Bush's imperial storm troopers (or under Clinton too for that matter, like Kosovo) is always justified, and any other country acting in self-defense or to defend their jurisdictions (e.g. Russia-S. Ossetia) is condemned. And for you hypocritical democrats who want Obama, he already stated he would do the very same thing, invade Pakistan for the "war on terrorism"! (Objective commentary based on principle must spare none who violate it). The hypocrisy is self evident, yet the MSM does not expose it. The wars will NEVER end until the people make the government stop and refuse to support ANY leader who violates the very restrictive principles of just war and the Constitution.
