POPSIs our universe fine-tuned for life? The Anthropic Principle Under Scrutiny Adams selected a range of possible values for each of these constants, then put them into a computer model that created a multitude of universes, or a virtual "multiverse". Each universe within the multiverse used different values for the three constants and was subject to slightly different laws of physics. About a quarter of the resulting universes turned out to be populated by energy-generating stars. "You can change alpha or the gravitational constant by a factor of 100 and stars still form," Adams says, suggesting that stars can exist in universes in which at least some fundamental constants are wildly different than in our universe.

POPSMy Metaverse Can Beat Up Your Metaverse… Can’t We All Just Multiverse Along? For those keeping score, Google is gearing up to pwn the Virtual World market, while the Japanese are building their own private garden and China is getting ready to enter the third dimension even if it does require them to practice self-censorship to get there. Listening to the buzz surrounding these events, one would think we’re looking at a death match. But rather than a victor arising from the rumble, why can’t they all just get along?

POPSDo We Live in a Multiverse? PD: The "leap of faith" needed to accept the existence of a multiverse is greater than that normally expected of scientists, which is to assume the unexplained existence of the laws of physics, although it is perhaps less than that required for belief in a cosmic designer who made a universe fit for life." wildcat concurs

POPSParallel universes beguile science Another type of multiverse arises with the theory of chaotic inflation, which tells us that all these parallel worlds are expanding so rapidly -- stretching further and further in to space -- that they remain out of reach even if one could travel at the speed of light forever
