The House Sides with Main St: "No Deal" to Banksters!
blueridge
by blueridge  9-30-2008    1
In this real game of "Deal or No Deal" the American taxpayer finally won a round against the financial heavyweights. While idiots in the House and talk radio (and the McCain campaign) tried to make this a partisan issue, Bloomberg tallies here that 40% of Democrats and 67% of Republicans combined together to narrowly defeat the Fed's bill that Bush supported. THAT IS CALLED A BI-PARTISAN DEFEAT OF THE BILL THAT AMERICANS IN THE MAJORITY TOLD CONGRESS THEY HATED! Conservative talk show host Michael Savage tonight (who has been railing against Bush as a fiscal socialist and the Wall Street banksters as crooks) underscored that he was right that Americans wanted "no deal" while talk show corporate sycophants (he let them have it by name)--i.e. Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Bill O'Reilly--who supported the bailout were wrong. The defeat of this irresponsible bill was not based upon Partisanship, but good Principle.

U.S. Perpetuates Mass Killings In Iraq
thisnamecantbetaken
by thisnamecantbetaken  9-28-2008    3
I couldn't care less who wins the elections. Looking at both candidates, it seems America isn't the least bit interested in real change. Is anyone asking the candidates about what they are going to do about the US' slow but steady slide into fascism? Or about limiting presidential power? Or about banning torture? Or about the return of Habeus Corpus? Or about extraordinary renditions and secret prisons? Or about preemptive aggression? Or about making your war criminals pay for their crimes? Hmm? Anyone? No. No. Let's just keep it entertaining, low key and unsubstantial. Let's talk about lipstick! Yeah! Blacks vs whites, Democrats vs Republicans, pro-life vs pro-choice, Christians vs atheists blah blah blah... "Divide and conquer!". The power elite working behind the scenes have that pat down and the US citizenry is blissfully (perhaps willingly) oblivious... *shaking my head in disbelief* Oops! No time to comment any more! The O'Reilly Factor's on! No spin! Really!

Using White Guilt for the Media's Preference

Poll timed by media to capture momentum. http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/story?section=news/politics/national_elections&id=6404046 ...and let's repeat: It is not unknown in news media for a poll to make it to the front page that simply was an excuse to put opinion there.

Palin Plays the Hillary Card, Blatant Attempt to Swing Women Voters
blueridge
by blueridge  9-13-2008    3
A blatant appeal to feminist sexism here by Palin to chase women votes, i.e. vote for me because I am the woman candidate you wanted (forget everything else)! It was disgusting when Hillary played it, but now Palin does likewise. There is some truth to what she says, but her blatant flattery (which the Bible condemns as hypocrisy) of Hillary is dishonest (and she gets called on it in this clip). The Lord shall cut off all flattering lips--Ps. 12:3 ...including Palin's. Clearly the purpose here is to 1) preempt speculation that Biden will be swapped for Hillary after a reported meeting with Bill Clinton, and 2) to go after the embittered Hillary supporters who vowed to not support Obama. Palin here is trying to pick off the most vulnerable of the Democratic flock. Seriously now, does the GOP and republicans agree with her praises of Hillary? Let's hear now if Sean Hannity or Rush Limbaugh or Bill O'Reilly agree with her--if they dare!

MSNBC Is Buzz Flashes "Media Putz of the Week"
zasel
by zasel  9-11-2008
I have always preferred MSNBC for cable news coverage, as they seemed to be the least influenced by right-wing threats. Unlike Fox, who claims to be "Fair and Balanced" when in fact they are Republican shills, MSNBC was far more able to claim that mantle. However, it appears that MSNBC is getting nervous because the two hosts they have who are more left than right, have been garnering complaints from the Republican Committee and the McCain campaign. Compared with remarks that O'Reilly or Hannity make on a regular basis, Olbermann et al, are quite mild. And then again, Olbermann has been, up til this week, the only truly lefty commentator, while FOX is ALL Conservative ALL the Time. But MSNBC has demoted Olbermann as well as Chris Matthews because the RNC did not like the fact that they questioned Sarah Palins qualifications for office. My God, is there nowhere fair minded people can turn any longer?

That'd be the same Charlie Gibson who once asked Dubya , "You took a lot of doubting and rather skeptical questions about the surge. I'll give you a chance to crow. Do you want to say, I told you so?" And it's the same Gibson who helped turn the Pennsylvania Democratic Primary debate into an an attack on Barack Obama . Geez, was Bill O'Reilly too busy do it or what? Expect a lot of softball questions, softened with Nerf.

Ouch!... Palin Slams Obama On His Ridiculous Surge Stands
merrie
by merrie  9-6-2008
Experienced Governor Palin blasted him on his surge stands today: Watch MSNBC video at site: http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/2008/09/ouch-palin-slams-obama-on-his.html In more bad news for the democratic media conglomerate-- 10,000 subscribers called Us magazine to cancel their subscriptions after their hit piece on Sarah Palin. Hat Tip Andy B. And, Patrick corrected my earlier numbers... Over 40 million watched Sarah Palin on Wednesday not 37 million. The Nielsen ratings showed that Palin attracted a huge female audience of 19.5 million women, nearly 5 million larger than the third day of the Democratic convention when Hillary Clinton spoke. Sarah better look out. The media is hot on her tail and not because they like her. http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/2008/09/one-is-two-palin-now-more-popular-than.html

Sally Quinn Does Complete U-turn on Sarah Palin

I'm not holding my breath but after Sally Quinn's dramatic turnaround I guess anything is possible. —P.J. Gladnick is a freelance writer and creator of the DUmmie FUnnies blog.

Obama Tells O'Reilly Surge Succeeded
sillysam
by sillysam  9-4-2008    8
Before the interview was arranged, Obama and his staff held a closed door meeting with Fox News Chairman Roger Ailes to discuss his network's media coverage of the presidential election. According to Ailes, Obama wanted to know if he would get a "fair shake" from Fox. Ailes told the Washington Post he replied, "Senator, you're the one who boycotted us. We're not the ones who boycotted you. Nor did we retaliate for your boycott."
